Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of: Pre-colonial Philippine


literature as a means of connecting to the past; various reading styles; ways of
determining word meaning; the sounds of English and the prosodic features of speech;
and correct subject-verb agreement.

Performance Standard: The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the
literature of the past; comprehending texts using appropriate reading styles;
participating in conversations using appropriate context- dependent expressions;
producing English sounds correctly and using the prosodic features of speech effectively
in various situations; and observing correct subject- verb agreement.

Learning Competencies: EN7WC-I-h-2.2: Retell a chosen myth or legend in a


series of simple paragraphs
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, 95% of the students should be able to:
a. Differentiate myth from a factual story;
b. Complete a graphic organizer containing the correct arrangement of the story’s
events; and
c. Retell a chosen myth using a simple paragraph.

III. PROCEDURE

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
o Opening prayer
o Checking of attendance
o Daily Routine. Classroom management and management of learner’s
behavior (Objective 5 PPST 2.6.2) Instruct the learners to arrange their
seats, pick up pieces of paper, sit properly. Remind learners to always be
careful.
o Presentation of the lesson objectives.
o Introduction of the new lesson.
o Review: Myth – is a fictitious story that tells about the origin of
humans and the universe. It also explains some natural and social
phenomena and usually involving supernatural beings or events.

B. MOTIVATION
o The learners will present their assignments to the class one by one and
the other students will answer the questions.
o The teacher will collect the students’ papers once they have asked their
questions already.

C. LESSON PROPER
o Activity
o The teacher will let the students group themselves with 6 members.
o The teacher will ask the questions from the students’ assignments
following the star organizer. The group with most points wins.

o The teacher will review again the story focusing on the disobedience of the
main characters. Using a graphic organizer, teacher asks the students to
share the consequences of disobedience.
