MY LIFE
INTRODUCTION
1. Consiousness the ability to be aware of being is common to all mammals
but scientist have found out that only humans have an advance form of its
development . This awareness for me would start after two years of been
born. The awareness that I am a Nigerian that I am a black man would
comes many years later.
2. Nobody as a child on the day one of life knows in details what happen to
him or her. The details of the birth, the circumstances that later came into
play were related by my parents and close relatives.
3. The purpose of this paper is to look at my life , it will covers the early period
of my birth . My experience in secondary schools , my tertiary education,
working experience and some life experiences. The paper will be limited to
my educational and spiritual expences . It is assumed that the readers can
fill up any gap latter from personal questions and interviews.
AIM
4. The aim of this paper is to describe my life.

EARLY LIFE
5. As related to me by my parents , I was born in the early hours of Saturday
morning on the 19 day of November 1983 in a local hospital in the city of
Ibadan.
6. My parents were my first teachers and the great efforts they put to raise
me to be a disciplined and well behaved child was really considerable.
Together with my siblings we were given a high quality education at the
Mercy day nursery and secondary school. On Sunday we worship at the
Apostolic faith Church where we were given religious instructions.
7. The creation of Osun State out of the old Oyo state means that all
indigines of Osun State must move back to their newly created state. My
father with the rest of the family move to Osogbo , the new Capital of the
State.

8. I have to acclimatized to a new environment with new sets of class mates

at the Oroki Nursery and Primary School Osogbo. My new Classmates were
bright and most of them were from middle class familes . Our common
entrance examination scattered us into different secondary schools of
choice.

SECONDARY SCHOOL DAYS

9. I was admitted at the Osogbo Grammar School , for the first time , I was
expose to a large bodies of bright students from different nursery and
primaries schools.
Some of my classmates at the oroki nursery and primary school were also in
the new school , but majority had move to Fakunle comprehensive high
school , one of the most famous secondary school in Osun state.
10. One notable thing I noticed was my new class mates were not only
proficient in books and academics, they were also very good in sport. They
can play Table Tennis , Long Tennis and can somersault in mid-air . We
were also exposed to a wider bodies of knowledge beyond the basic
learning in Primary School.
11. I have to change secondary school in Junior Secondary school one. My
mother was posted to Ikire as a primary school teacher and by mutual
agreement , the family moved to Ikire together with our mother. I started a
new life at the Ayedaade Grammar School in Ikire. At the new school , I
discovered the library for the first time . I will be in the school for six years
of studies.
TERTIARY EDUCATION
12. I sat for GCE Exam when I was in the second year of my secondary school
and passed. I was very optimistic that I finally I will be able to fulfil the
dream of my life which is to obtain an admission to study at the Obafemi
Awolowo University in Ile- Ife. Two of my maternal Uncle had finished at
the School before and were an inspiration to me also to follow in their
footsteps and example.

13. The final year at Ayedaade Grammar School was colorful . I was given the
appointment of a librarian prefect and when the final exam a dn west
African senior school certificate exam came out . I passed with flying
colours . I was a bit confidence that finally I would soon be in the
University.
14. It would not be, for another four years I was unable to pass Jamb and could
not get an admission into the University of my choice. I was not happy , I
have to wait at home , while my colleaques and classmates moves ahead in
the interval years.
15. My failures to secure admission means that I have to seriously reanalyze
the reason for my failures and not finding a solution , I decided to pray and
seeking direction from God. In the interval I learnt how to play the Piano
and the violin in the Church, eventually becoming a first violinist in our
orchestra and an amateur pianist.
16. I wrote the Jamb again and decided to also write Poly Jamb to boost my
chance of admission.
I would be lucky and got an offer to study Mechanical Engineering in Yaba
Tech Lagos.
Around the same time, the results of UME came out and I was offered
admission at the OAU to study Medicine.
17. My admission to the Obafemi Awolowo University to study human
Medicine and Surgery opens a new world of experience and opportunity
for me. For the first time , I have the opportunity of studying with incredibly
bright students from vvirtually every part of the country . My new
classmates were from wealthy homes and most are daughters and sons of
the crème de la crème of the best in our society.
18.The first years of the University were spends learning the rudiment s of
advanced mathematical and scientific courses which would be bedrock
later of Basic and Medical Sciences, All courses must be passed otherwise
starting medical courses proper would have been impossible . I studied
hard , studing both day and night and eventually passed and move to the
college of medicine.

19. The next two years were spent studying the Anatomy and Physiology of
the human Body . Classes were intercalated between theories and

practicals . Later in the day, we return to the hostels to rest and further
personal studies . I joined the Baptist Student Union and these gave me the
opportunity to meet some group of students who were later to be my great
friends through out Medical school.

20. The clinical years of medical school swiftly followed the Basic medical
sciences years and we started as clinical students to go for clinical postings
in different specialties . For about three months , Clinical students move
round each specialties and at the end of the year , a holistic Exam would
be conducted.

21. My experience in the clinical years were remarkable, each specialty has its
own strength and weakness. Particularly, I love the highly specialized
rotations and postings like Dermatology and the Ear Nose and Thorax
specialty. These have a more clinic approach and have less demanding
hours . Surgery , Obstetrics and Gynaecology were more stressful and
demanding in terms of longs hours and physical exertion.

22. The long years of schools and medical training was drawing gradually to a
close and eventually I had to say goodbye to medical school and my life as
a full students with a total dependence on my parent for funding would
now be a thing of the past. The next Chapter of my life as a worker
collecting a montly payment would then begin.

WORKING EXPERIENCES
23. To work and be paid for ones work has not been a new thing for me ,
when I was in secondary school, my parents were building a new house ,
the bricklayer was looking for labourers and seing an opportunity to make
money , me and my brothers volunteer to work as an assistant , we were
paid on a daily basis . I started working and collecting salary at Obafemi
Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife. As an House Officer , I was
responsible for my patients and all patients admitted for our departments.
Once every month, I have to go for an Emergency call at the Outpatient and
Emergency Department of the Hospital.
24.My first posting working as an intern was in surgery and we spend long
hours both at the thearter and in the ward. It was a memorable time and
despite the long hours and stress it was really satisfactory . I would never
forget an incidenct in which as the only house officer during my
Ophtamology posting.
25. I was the only house officer at the ophtamology Department then,
normally two house officers at least, covers each speaclity. However, there
was an error somewhere and I would have to be the only intern for the
next two weeks . I have to be present and responsible for all our patients
and also in the be in the theatre and the clinic. The most memorable and
unforgotable moment was when I was literally on my feet for twenty four
hours working in the theater and the ward and only have a brief rest while
collecting sample from the pathology laboratory.
26. I served at the Plateau State Specilaist hospital in Jos. Unlike my house Job
days, the working hours was more flexible. I was able to manage my time
more effectively. I worked with Family Physicians residents Doctors who
runs the general out patients department. Works starts officially by eight in
the morning and ends by fourteen hundred hours in the afternoon.
Weekend s were free and I had ample time to rest and recuperate.
27. Service years was finally over and I prepare to pack my load and move
back to the South West of the Country where I grew up. However, I got a
contract and was emplpyed as a medical officer at the Mashiah Foundation,
an NGO in Jos. My responsibility as the Doctor was to overseas the health

care at the Clinic and also take care of the HIV positive patients registered
with the facility.
28. An opportunity presented itself for a post of a medical officer and was
advertised at the 3 DIv Military Hospital . I applied and was offered the
temporary slot of a medical officer with the promise of a conversion to a
permanent ministry of Defence staff later. The working envinronment was
friendly despite been a military setting, together with other health workers
we manage the health care needs of officers and soldiers and their
families . Then majority of our patients were women and children and
advance cases were refered out to teaching hospitals.
SPIRTUAL EXPERIENCES
29.Life is full of challenges and my own life is not an expection to the rule . I
have had my own shares of heartaches, disappointments and failures in
life. However in all , it has lead me to ask and pounder on the deeper
signifance of life and the meaning of life in all.
30.Recently, I had a fatal motor accident which reinforce my resolve to live my
life for the Creator . I was driving alone in the night and the motor hit a
tree, I could have ended my life then but God save me even as he did some
years before 1
CONCLUSION
31. Life is a gift , a consciousness and awareness out of more than a million
years of nothingness. My life had been full of up and downs , success and
dissapointments . I was fortunate to have good parents who brought me up
in my path of quality education and installing me in the path of
righteousness and providing an enablement of growth for me. (Paragph5-
11)
32. My educational experience spans through primary , secondary and tertiary
education. A series of precarious life experience have force me to seek my
crerator and the resultant spiritual experience makes me to realize that my
mission more than any other pursuit is to serve the Creator ( Paragrah 12
-30)
