Assignment: Topic Selection (Significance of topic selection, how to do it)

Topic Selection is an important key factor of any research paper. When any student
or researcher is choosing topic for his Research Project or thesis he should think about the
reasons that why he chose this topic? On what basis he chose that particular topic?
Choosing interesting and good topic is challenge for students for their research work. Many
of time faculty provide topic for research project but most often faculty give freedom of
topic selection to the students. So that they can chose the topic which they keen to do
research.

Student must follow instruction given by their faculties regarding topic selection.
Topic must be relevant to the industry they are working in. Topic must not go off the track.
If required student can refer lecture notes given by the faculties.

Selecting topic is the first step of any research project. Student must do some
research about selected topic before proceeding further. One topic can be very broad for the
research. As a result, making research project will be lengthier process. So student should
narrow down the topic to the shorter level and qualitative information.

Ex. Food Safety >Impact of government guidelines in India on Food Safety

Once topic in finalized in mind it will help you to think more about how further
information can be collected and arranged accordingly. More of the work is done once the
topic is finalized by the student. Selected topic also reflects the research done by the student
for the selecting topic.
