Less appreciation

Working women in Pakistan who have to take care of their families are often having to
deal with the situation that pushed them to the point where they almost give up. One of
the main reasons is less appreciation. Anyone can be the reason behind this issue,
especially husbands. It is not an easy thing for women to step out of their houses, leave
their parents, husband, or children alone at the home and earn a living. But when they
do, they expect a little appreciation. A single word of appreciation said by a husband to
their wives are capable of vanishing all their tiredness in a second!
If you are an Ammi and your Bahu or Beti is a working woman, please don’t forget to
appreciate her and also guide your son to respect his wife’s sacrifices and hard work!
Family expectations
When it comes to fulfilling family expectations, a working woman could find it a bit
difficult. Allah Pak has shaped women’s hearts in a way that they keep everything very
close to their hearts. No matter if it about completing daily targets or fulfilling family
expectations, they never fail to amaze everyone! But it also burdens them. We never
know what a woman is facing in her office yet we expect her to be number one in
fulfilling “khandan ki umeedein.”
But no worries lady, you are doing amazing.
Double burden
It’s a myth that working women enjoy their lives more than women who stay at home!
And if you are one of these people, please rethink.
Working women does not rest when they get home. After completing the office job of 9-
5, they start another job of 9-12 and trust me that is harder than you think. If you are an
unmarried woman you have challenges like taking care of your elderly parents or
siblings. If you are a married woman it gets even firmer! You have to fulfill the
responsibilities of a good wife, a good mother and obviously “Sughar Bahu!”
People around you never notice if you had a rough day in the office or if your child is
sick at the, they just want you to the best that you can do for them. It doubles the
workload of working women and some women may suffer from depression.
Busy routine affects children
Another challenge that working women face is neglecting their children
UNINTENTIONALLY. And it gets worse when they are blamed for doing this without any
major reason. The baby sitter concept in Pakistan is not so common and this is one of
the reasons why children feel ignored. And the women who can afford a baby sitter just
refuse to trust the baby sitters.
Over the past years, Pakistan has faced some very offending incidents that have
betrayed the trust of our nation. We don’t trust anyone to take care of our belonging,
how can we allow a baby sitter to look after our child in our absence? This is the reason
why children of working women are NEGLECTED and such children find it difficult to
socialize.
Sexual harassment
This is one of the major problems faced by working women in Pakistan! Alham du lillah
over time the masculine factor of Pakistan has overcome this dismaying act but still in a
few fields of life, women still have to deal with harassment. In middle-class society,
women don’t working just because they love to work, they are forced to work because
they have to support their families. But some hidden antagonist in our society waits for
such ladies to show up so that they can attack them.
Pakistani women have faced so many difficulties but this is still a long way to go. So
many efforts have to be done for the working women of Pakistan so that they can work
according to their lifestyles without the fear of being judged and harassment!
