XBOX CREATIVE BRIEF

REASON FOR ADVERTISING


As we are nearing the release of a new console for every major platform, Microsoft, and more
specifically the Xbox brand, must find a way to jump start sales to surpass the PlayStation
counterpart this year.

Communication Objectives
We must show the raw power and ease of use that our console has compared to our
Sony/Playstation counterpart. This will be helped by the cross play features between our
consoles and the PC counterparts for our exclusive games. We also want to show off Xbox
Games Pass as an alternate for purchasing single games at every release date.

REASON FOR ADVERTISING

Target Audience
The target audience that is being aimed for is the age group of 17-24 year old males in the
middle - middle-upper class demographics. Males in this age range tend to spend the most
money in regards to video games.

Key Benefits
Using this target audience is an especially easy to advertise it to. The excessive use of social
media by individuals will drive the cost of the advertising far below what other avenues would
offer.

Reason to Believe
- The $300 to $500 price point allows for affordable game play comparable to PC gaming
without having to constantly add parts to a PC
- The design allows for consumers to have a space saving option for a gaming setup.
- The Xbox brand has a recognizable brand that can bring in a strong customer base
Tone
The brand can use a strong tone set with strong audio tracks with deep bass and an aspirational
tone to the video to keep customers drawn into the advertisements.

Deliverables
The final goal for this would be to have 3 final video commercials, 3 GIF images for rotated
postings, and 30 different still images for posting to all social media platforms on a rotated
business.

Measures of Success
As long as we see a 15-20% shift in sales, this will result in a major shift from historical trends in
the last few years resulting in over taking Sony in console sales.
