respondents are faced with their own unique choice. However, there were still some of them who

clothes, footwear, exercise and leisure options, smoking/alcohol consumption, school, place to work,

friends, pets, and lastly, spending and saving.

Conclusion

As observed from the results of the survey, the respondents of both women and men manifested

individualistic selves, since majority of the answers are from the category of ‘My Unique Choice’. The

probable factor that may have affected their development of individualistic selves is that they already

know what they want and they do not mostly rely on other people for their decision-making. Lastly, to

answer the question, “Are Filipinos generally a collective culture?”, if it will be based from the survey,

no, because it was already shown that the category ‘My Unique Choice’ have majority of answers. But

generally, Filipinos are in a collective culture because it is a part of their traits. There is usually a long-

term commitment to families, extended families, and extended relationships.
