My Cultural Belonging
• I was born in Las Vegas Nevada, however, I grew
up having a Hispanic cultural background. I am
very proud of my culture because it defines my
traditions and religion that I live by today. I
value my family because we are very family-
oriented and respect each other's personal
decisions. I was raised to respect cultural
diversity and to treat others equally with
respect.
• I grew up learning to speak, read, and write
both English and Spanish Languages.
• My favorite food that comes from my culture is
tacos and tamales. During holidays like
Christmas my family gets together and makes all
these delicious foods.

• One of my favorite celebrations that comes with

my culture is celebrating the milestone of a girl
turning 15 years old. This is also known as a
quinceañera. The quinceañera dresses up in a
big puffy dress and celebrates with family and
friends. I actually got the opportunity to have a
quinceañera and I absolutely loved it. I got to
dress up, dance, eat, and overall just hang out
with the people that I love.
• Not every hispanic girl gets a quinceañera
because not every girl wants one, which is okay
and culturally accepted.
• I identify my gender to be a Girl/Female

• My religion is Catholic. Having a
catholic religion is really common for
Hispanic cultures
• There are many great key concepts in
my Hispanic culture. For example,
there are five F's which are
Family/Friends, Fiesta, Faith, Food, and
Futbol (soccer).
 Life Experiences
• I have only ever lived in Las Vegas Nevada. I actually
really enjoy it here and I do not see myself living
anywhere else in my future unless there was a different
factor in my life that involved me living somewhere
else.
• My interests involve hanging out with friends, going to
raves, shopping, listening to music, baking, and playing
with my puppy.
• What takes up most of my time is work and school. I
work at an Italian restaurant at the Wynn called Cipriani.
I am a hostess/cashier and I love meeting new people at
my job. As for school, I am taking four classes at the
moment. Two of those classes are eight-week classes. I
can say that I miss physically going to class instead of
going to an online school. Personally what I loved about
physically going to school is getting ready, having a
reason to get cute, often going to Starbucks to reward
and wake myself up, and just starting my day at school
with friends. Overall I love feeling productive.
 My World View
• My short term goal is to finish this college
semester with straight A's and get all of my
assignments done on time. Aside from school, my
short term goal is to save up money and solve a
current issue that is happening in my personal life
at the moment.
• My long term goal is to finish college and get
my degree in Elementary Education. I want to
become an Elementary school teacher or have a
career that involves young children.
• My personal beliefs is that everything that is
meant to be for you, will be for you. I believe
that things will always work itself out eventually
so I try my best to not let stress or anxiety get the
best of me.
 Cultural Artifacts
• As for my interest, ever since I started working
my goal was to save up money to buy myself a
White Jeep Wrangler. After saving for three
years, working my part-time job, going to
school, and some help from my parents I am
proud to say that I got my Jeep.

• In my opinion, it is important to set big goals

for yourself because once you accomplish
then it is such a great feeling. Setting goals
gives your life purpose by giving yourself
something to look forward to.
