and isolated from the pressure and held for 5 minutes

How to test the pneumatic lines?


1. Instrument sub and branch header shall be blown by compressed

air to remove foreign bodies present inside pipe.

2. Instrument air line shall be pressurized and isolated the line from

pressure source and check the joint with soap solution. The

pressure in system shall not and held for 10 minutes.

3. After the completion of test pipe line to be blown and dried using

compressed air.

How to test the instrument cables?

1. Instrument cables rated 600 volts shall be tested 500 volt megger

and if rated 300 volt shall be tested at 250 vdc.

2. Check the continuity of each core, individual drain and overall

drain.

3. Check the insulation resistance between cores and individual

coresm screen and armor.

4. The result shall be greater than 1 mega ohm.

How to check the installation of instrument Panels?

1. The complete assembly shall be checked to ensure alignment and

level after tighten the bolts

2. The instrument shall be checked against identifying labels & tags

are installed as per layout drawings.


3. Earthing of panel shall be checked as per layout drawing.

4. Installation shall be rigid.

5. Panel doors and detachable covers shall be checked to ensure

proper enclosure and sealing.

What is the maximum length of impulse tubing in control loops?

ANS: 6 meter or 20 feet

What is the minimum separation of power cables (120 VAC) and

analog signals between conduits?
