Q1: Why did apple Lisa fail? What were the issues with its distribution?
Ans: The issues that led to the failure of lisa was that it failed to recognize that the target market
has a different set of needs and expectations, different set of market demands a different set of
services and a channel that provide those services. The target markets of these comprised of
schools, and to large extent home users. There were no distributors in between that could add
value to the product. The home users were more interested in it as a technology but not into its
functionality. There were many differences from the home market in user offering, combined
with product information, product support etc that contributed to the large failure of the product.
Q2: Recommend and design a distribution channel for apple Lisa.
Ans: Apple should use a Multi-distribution channel design. In this way it would solve the
problem that it faced before which that that because of the unavailability of independent channel.
Also, this channel is recommended as they are targeting businesses.
