Gender and Labor

When we say about gender it is composed of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender,


Quires and more or what we call plus. But now we inform you that woman faces different
constraints from men in the labor market. This is recognized to Republic Act 9710, also
known as the Magna Carta of Women, enacted in 2009.
This act recognized that equality of men and women entails the abolitions of the
unequal structures and practices that perpetuate discrimination and inequality in connection
with the employment the Philippines Commission on women indicates that the Magna Carta
of Woman will level the playing field by making productive resources and economic
opportunities equality Available for both men and women. In the reality is that since a child
was born, she does not know how to do any work.
A children grow up, they learn to do various work but society encourage them do
certain specific work, like cooking and cleaning.
This distribution of labor is based on them and not on individual capacity or skill.
This effects of girls and women adversely. Since girl are expected to take care of the family
and household, their education is not priority for the family.
Both boys and girls should be given equal opportunity to learn different skill sets
based on their interest and to grow. Household chores are not only women responsibility, it is
household responsibility and all family members should contribute to it
