The Ranco® K54 Series Temperature Controls are cold thermostats

used in all types of very low temperature refrigeration applications
such as freezers and display cabinets.

Features and Benefits

• Main SPST switch with auxiliary operation signal
• Anti-explosive ATEX approved thermostat version designed
with fully enclosed break device. (Thermostat external
structure is 1.5mm higher in the switch area than the
height of a standard thermostat.)
• Constant differential control with default differential set
between 3 K and 14 K
• Wide differential version available (up to 35 K)
K54 • Durable and reliable switch and mechanism to help ensure
continuous operation of the appliance
• Encapsulated body made of high quality material for
exceptional performance and consistent operation
• Faston terminal configurations in various sizes (6.3mm
and/or 4.8mm) and positions (vertical, horizontal, or mixed
combination positions)
• Capillary lengths range from 300mm to 3000mm with
different forms or with bulb
• Compact size
• Standard mounting configuration or with bracket
• IEC certified
• Made in EU (Czech Republic)

Temperature Characteristics
• Operating range: -40°C to +40°C
• Adjustable range: 4 K to 30 K
• Switching differential (factory set): 3 K to 14 K
• Signal differential: 4 K to 7 K

K54 Basic Versions

Standard Version
Terminal 3-4 closes at temperature rise
Terminal 3-6 closes when warning temperature has been reached
The auxiliary switch (terminal 3-6) closes as soon as the cut-in temperature is exceeded by a fixed temperature value (between 4°C and 7°C)
providing a warning signal.
Custom Options
1. Identical control function as above, but with auxiliary switch opening when cut-in temperature is exceeded.
2. Constant warning temperature, and a second warning temperature by clipped-on auxiliary switch.
