Title: Neutralization
Aim: to observe neutralization by colour change
Materials/apparatus:
100ml beakers
Hydrochloric Acid (0.1M)
Sodium Hydroxide Solution
1 Measuring Cylinder
1 Dropper
Phenolphthalein Indicator
Universal Indicator
Litmus solution
Diagram:
Method:
1) Add 20ml of Hydrochloric acid to the beaker.
2) Add 2-3 drops of Phenolphthalein to the hydrochloric acid in the beaker.
3) Add Sodium Hydroxide Solution dropwise until the solution approach a pH of 7.
4) Record all observations.
5) Repeat steps 1-4 with the other indicators.
