COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE


Exercise 1: Fill in the blanks by changing the positive adjectives into comparative
form.

1. The monkey is (big) than the mouse.

2. Cars are (fast) than bikes.

3. Grapes are (small) than apples.

4. Mice are (slow) than cheetahs.

5. Jack is (tall) than his uncle.

6. Mark is (fat) than Tom.

7. This ruler is (long) than that ruler.

8. This man is (old) than that man.

Exercise 2: Fill in the blanks by changing the positive adjectives into superlative
form.
1. I think English is the (easy) subject.

2. Russia is the (big) country in the world.

3. A cheetah is the (fast) animal in the world.

4. Amy is the (thin) of the six girls.

5. The birds is the (small) of all.

6. My sister is the (tall) of her five friends.

7. Of the four boys. Tom is the (fat).


8. Mr. Everest is the (high) mountain in the world.

Exercise 2: Write the adjectives in the correct group. Can you write the comparative
and superlative form too?

This is my family. I am taller than my


brother and sister but my dad is the tallest.
My mum is a vet and my dad is a teacher. I
think being a vet is more interesting than
being a teacher because you work with
animals. I want to be an astronaut – I think
the comparative
