Title of Artifact: TA formative assessment on professionalism

Date: November 27tth, 2020

Focus: Professionalism

Applicable TQS Competency(ies): TQS#6

This artifact is about: This artifact is a formative assessment checklist that my TA did for me where
one week she focussed on professionalism. She chose random categories in the checklist that she was
going to mark me on each week. This week just happened to be focussing on professionalism in the
school. I had to be on top of this every week, although she did only mark me on this for one week I did
not know when she was going to do so.

I chose to include this artifact because: I chose to include this artifact because it is the perfect
example of me demonstrating professionalism in the workplace. The thing that makes this artifact
unique is that it was not taken from my own opinion, but from someone who has been at this school for
six years. I know professionalism is something that could change from school to school, however I
believe that I have the power to adapt to whatever school environment I get put into and this is just one
example that proves that.

From this artifact I learned: From this artifact I learned that professionalism will look different
depending on the school you go to. I have friends that dressed differently than I but they still scored
well because thats what their school culture is like. When it comes to NCS, it is more relaxed when it
comes to dress code, however that does not change the level of professionalism in other areas of the
school.

The way(s) in which I grew or changed as a teacher as a result of this artifact is/are: I grew as a
teacher because I learned that I have no problems with demonstrating a professional body in the school.
I learned that dress code is not everything when it comes to professionalism, but more how you act and
project yourself in day to day activities.
