OR Rotation Evaluation

OR rotation is one of the most exciting rotations. But because of the health crisis, we

opted to have it in our virtual classroom. The OR Rotation is something I have been looking

forward to go on duty and at the same time, scared to do. For one thing, watching surgeons open

up bodies or cutting off bones is awesome but handling a human life is scary at the same time.

Most especially handling doctors. I guess I can say when it comes to handling instruments to

give to the surgeons, I was scared. Like the time when I was the instrument nurse. To be honest,

It was not easy to grasp everything in the operating room. But even if we did it virtually, I am

happy that I learned. I learned that we need to be more careful and vigilant of what we’re doing

in the operating room. In the future real OR duties, I should keep in mind to be competent,

responsible and determined.

My classmates and I were all supportive and considerate of each other and we took into

consideration the cases we needed to make. Each one was very much understanding of having

equality on the number of cases. Each and every one of my classmates were helpful in regards to

sharing their knowledge and expertise regarding a certain topic. I am very thankful of them for

we never miss out on a chance to work with each other online.

To our CI, Ma’am Bustamante, thank you for being so patient throughout the whole

virtual duty. I appreciate your effort in imparting knowledge even if we are having our duty

online. Thank you for sharing your real life experiences.
