Answer the following questions. Answer as briefly but as comprehensive as

possible. 10 points each.

1. What is the importance of quality for you? Discuss by giving specific

examples.

- The importance of quality is top priority for me, I believe that quality is
what makes purchasing the product worth it. If I buy a product with
average or below average quality then it does not matter how cheap or
expensive it is, because then I would have to buy it again since it would
break or wear out easily. For example I bought a charging cord for 300
pesos in the mall and it only lasted a month, I do not want to be always
buying a product at that cost for it to be of cheap quality. Instead I went
online and bought a charging cord for only 200 that has lasted me at least
4 months.

2. Discuss the difference between goods and services in the Operations

Management System.

- The difference between good and services is that a good is a tangible

product. Tangible meaning it is a physical product that can be touched,
felt, taste, heard or smelled. A service is an intangible product, it is labor,
or a reward given to a paying customer.

3. Discuss your personal understanding of how important is Operations

Management to businesses.

- My understanding of Operations Management is that it is the processes

in which a business manages their inputs and outputs. This is important
because then everything that goes in and out is monitored and is taken
note of. Through these process, a business is able to continuously
improve their system and their products.

4. Discuss how tactical decisions are to aid strategic decisions.

- Tactical decision aid in strategic decisions because tactical decisions

constantly monitors current operations and adapt to external and internal
situations, to improve and make sure that the operation goes smoothly in the
future.

5. How can you liken your daily routine to operations management system?
- My daily routine is like Operations Management because just like
operations, the whole process has a system and order of how to do
certain tasks or what task comes first. In operations there are raw materials
that go through a change to be assembled and produced into goods. The
processes that inputs go through has a system and order in the way that
my daily routine also has a system and order.

6. How does operation management system transform inputs into outputs?

- Operations Management system transforms inputs into outputs, by

bringing primary raw materials into a factory or warehouse and putting it in
an extensive process of assembling the raw materials into a good or
product.

7. Make a study plan that will make you achieve your goal to become
successful in your future profession.

- My study plan is to graduate and get my bachelor’s degree, then I plan

to go to as many job interviews as I can in the business industry. As I
receive all these job opportunities, I will pick the job that is the most suited
for me, in terms of the work done, and office environment. As I work, I will
also be going for a masters degree in economics, so that I can become a
proper business analyst. I plan to collect my two year experience usually
required for work, while also taking my graduate classes. When I succeed
getting my masters while also collecting my two year work experience, I will
be going abroad for work.

8. Discuss a strategy that you have implemented personally to achieve a

specific goal.

- A strategy that I have implemented to achieve my goals, is to create

interest in what I am doing. I think of both cons and pros and try to
eliminate all actions that will end up with great loss or produce nothing. I
imagine the great rewards I will get when achieving that goal.

9. Enumerate specific core competencies you have earned through the years,
how do you achieved them?

- Core competencies I have earned is I adapt very quickly to my

surroundings. I know how to blend into different groups and environment. I
am also very observant and very aware of what is happening around me. I
have achieved these through my interest into psychology, and asking
myself the question “ why does an individual do the things they do?”

10. Why is it important to train your employees in specific tasks?

- It is important to train employees in specific tasks because it help them

gain experience, but also to make sure that there are employees that can
take over those specific tasks. It is important that there are certain groups that
can focus on parts of the operations as to not be disorganized and have
people all over the place. Just like each cell in our body has a specific job and
a specific direction it goes to for us to function normally, so does a business.
