Hymn #147 “The First Nowell”

Prayer of Confession Rev. George Haugen

Almighty God, as we draw near to worship you, we are reminded of our sinfulness, and of your
holiness. We publically acknowledge that we have fallen short, and broken your commands. We have
offended against your holy will. Our sins deserve your punishment. But as we think about the birth of
Jesus this day, we rejoice that you have provided a Savior for us. Therefore we place our trust in Him,
and call out to you for mercy. Forgive us and cleanse us. Continue to work in us to mold and shape us
to be more like Christ. (Please continue in silent confession) In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon Rev. George Haugen

Leader: The angels rejoiced when they proclaimed, “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to
you, He is Christ the Lord.”
People: Glory to God in the highest! In Christ Jesus we are forgiven! Praise the Lord! Amen!
