SLIP TEST – I (SET-1)

II SEMESTER EXAMINATION
ADVANCED ENGINEERING DRAWING

TIME: 1 Hour TOTAL MARKS: 20

PART - A (4x2M = 8M)

Note: Answer ALL the questions. Each question carries 2marks.

1. Define the terms Pyramid .

2. Draw the neat sketch of square pyramid.

3. How a section plane is indicated

4. Draw the hatching lines in a square of 50x50 mm size.

PART- B (2 x 6M = 12M)

5a.A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and axis 65 mm long, rests with its base on H.P. and one of the
edges of its base is perpendicular to V.P and also one of its base corner is 10 mm in front of V.P. It is cut by a
section plane perpendicular to V.P and parallel to H.P and also passing through the axis at 35 mm above the
base. Draw the front view and sectional top view.
OR
5b.A cone of base diameter 50 mm and axis 65 mm long is resting on its base on H.P and axis from V.P. It is
cut by a section plane perpendicular to V.P., inclined at 45 0 to the H.P and cutting the axis at a point 30 mm
from the apex. Draw its front view. Sectional top view and true shape the section .

6a. Draw the projections of a pentagonal prism of base side 30mm and axis 60 mm is such that one of its
rectangular faces is parallel and 20 mm above H.P. Its axis is 30 0 inclined to V.P and one of its base corner
15 mm in front of V.P.
OR
6b. Draw the projections of a cone of base diameter 40 mm and axis 60 mm is such that one of its generator is
parallel and 10 mm above H.P. Its axis is parallel and 30 mm infront of V.P
.

ADVANCED ENGINEERING DRAWING

TIME: 1 Hour TOTAL MARKS: 20

PART - A (4x2 = 8M)

Note: Answer ALL the questions. Each question carries 2marks

1. Define the term polyhedron?

2. What is a sectional view.

3. Define the term i) prism ii) pyramid.

4. Draw the neat sketch of pentagonal pyramid.

PART- B (2 x 6 = 12M)

Note: Answer the following questions

5a. A square prism of base side 40 mm and axis 60 mm long, rests with its base on H.P such that one
of its rectangular faces is inclined at 60o to V.P and one of its edge of that rectangular face is 10 mm
in front of V.P. A section plane perpendicular to H.P and inclined at 60o to V.P passes through the
prism such that rectangular face which is making 60o with V.P is cut into two halves. Draw the top
view, sectional front view and true shape of section

(OR)
5b. A square pyramid of base side 50 mm and axis 75 mm long is resting on the ground with its two base
edges are equally inclined to the V.P. It is cut by a section plane perpendicular to V.P inclined at 45o to the
H.P and bisecting the axis. Draw its sectional top view and true shape of the section.

6a.A hexagonal pyramid with side of base edge 30 mm and axis 60 mm long, is resting with its base on H.P
such that one of its base edges is inclined to V.P at 450 and the axis is 50 mm in front of V.P.

(OR)
6b.A Cylinder with base 40 mm diameter and 50 mm long, rests on a point of its base on H.P such that the axis
makes an angle of 30o with H.P. Draw the projections of the cylinder
