Relay For Life Committees:

Survivorship:

Work together to plan events with/for survivors.

*One in three Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in his or her lifetime.
Survivors are the people we’re fighting for, our hope and inspiration, and our
reason to keep going.

Advocacy:

Work to plan advocacy events, work with elective officials and campus
administrators to influence policy making.

Cancer Education:

Work together to plan cancer education events/put together informational


materials.

*If we can reach out to UT students now about quitting smoking and
maintaining a healthy lifestyle, their chances of developing cancer in the
future will be greatly diminished.

Luminaria:

Coordinate the sales, set-up and logistics of luminarias up to and during


Relay For Life.

Logistics:

Work to coordinate event planning and logistics up to and during Relay For
Life.

Food and Beverage:

Work to obtain and coordinate food and beverages for the Relay For Life
event.

Sponsorship/Appreciation:

Build and maintain relationships with corporations to obtain support for Relay
For Life.

Entertainment:

Plan, coordinate, and obtain entertainment, activities, and lap themes for
Relay.

Encourage people to become active team captains and members for Relay
For Life.

Staff/Community Recruitment:

Work with Team Recruitment to gather participants outside of UC students.

Volunteer Recruitment:

Gather and delegate duties for day-of volunteers for the Relay For Life event.

Greek Recruitment:

Recruit teams from the Greek Community (Panhellenic, IFC, and NPHC)

Medical Campus Recruitment:

Work as a liaison to build and maintain a relationship with the medical


community staff, faculty, and patients to attend, participate, and support our
Relay.

Faculty Recruitment:

Help to increase the amount of faculty participation in CAC as well as Relay.

PR/Marketing Chair:

Help market and advertise all CAC and Relay For Life events on and off-
campus

Online/Registration Chair:

Work on the technological side of Relay For Life (updating the website, etc.)

Social Online Chair

Work on the online side of Relay For Life (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Treasurer:

Help to keep a working budget for CAC. Work with Dean of Students
accountant; help prepare presentations for requesting funding from SAC.

Secretary:

Help keep everyone up-to-date by taking minutes at meetings and


distributing them electronically after the meeting. Also help by preparing
agendas prior to the meetings. Handle the organization’s outside
correspondence.

**NOTE: This will be a team effort and you may be asked to help in
many different areas to make our organization the best it can be!
