Tell Ms. Daub your book: Wednesday, October 7th

You will select and read a book from My On, HPL or your home. Your book must have the

decorate a brown or white paper bag (a plain gift bag may be used) and present your bag to the
class via Flip Grid, or a personal video. Please use a bag that is larger than a standard small
brown lunch bag but no larger than a standard size grocery bag. Follow the step-by-step
instructions below to complete your project. There is also a rubric for you to follow.
Step 1 - Read your book!
Step 2 - You will decorate a paper bag using the guidelines below. All of the information on the
sides of the paper bag must be written neatly, in your best handwriting (see exception for front
cover below). The information may be written on separate sheets of paper and then glued or
taped onto the bag.
• Side 1 - FRONT COVER (please use a wide side of the bag)

o Include the title and author of your book. The title of your book may be written in

illustration of an important scene from your book with a brief description of your illustration.
• Side 2 - SETTING (please use a wide side of the bag)

o Identify where and when your story takes place. Describe the setting in a way that
we can visualize what it looks like. You must provide an illustration or picture that represents
the setting.
• Side 3 – PLOT (Include the CONFLICT and RESOLUTION)

o Write a 1 paragraph summary of the plot. This should include the conflict and
resolution. Your paragraph should include at least 5 sentences.
• Side 4 - CHARACTERS

o Give a detailed description of the main character. Use several adjectives to describe
the character. For the other characters in the book, write a list of their names.
Step 3 - You will collect 5 items to place inside your paper bag that relate to your book. You
will also write at least one sentence describing why you selected each item. Please write
each description on the same sheet of paper and place inside the bag with your items.
