ENGINEERING DRAWING 1: MEU 07102

Individual Assignment 1: 08/12/2017
Instructions:
a. Construction lines should be clearly shown and differentiated from original line and finishing
lines.
b. Use only an A3 drawing sheet, with borderlines and a completed title block on each sheet.
c. More than one question can be drawn on one drawing sheet.
d. Protractors and set squares are not be used when drawing angles.
e. Submission date is 3 pm on 14th of December, 2017.

Exercises.

1. Draw a line of 107 mm and divide it into the ratio 2:3.

2. Draw a line AB 60 mm long. At B, erect a perpendicular line BC 80 mm long. Draw a line
joining A and C, measure its length. Construct an equilateral triangle on each line as a side.
3. Draw a line PQ 100 mm long. At any point O in it near its centre, erect a perpendicular OA
65 mm long. Through A, draw a line parallel to PQ.
4. Draw a circle of diameter 57 cm.
5. Construct figure A below without making use of set squares or of a protractor. All lines are
40 mm long. Measure the distance between A and G.

6. Using angle bisection, draw a circle of radius 30 mm and divide it into 8 equal parts.
7. Draw two lines AB and AC making an angle of 75⁰. Draw a circle of 25 mm radius touching
them.
8. Draw a line AB of any length. Mark a point O at any distance of 25 mm from AB. With O as
centre, draw a circle of 40 mm diameter. Describe another circle (i) of 20 mm radius,
externally touching the circle and line AB. (ii) of 35 mm radius, touching AB and the circle,
internally.

9. Draw two circles of 20 mm and 30 mm radii respectively with centres 60 mm apart.
(i) Describe a third circle of 50 mm radius touching the two circles and
(a) outside them;
(b) including the 20 mm circle;
(c) including the 30 mm circle.

(ii) Describe a circle of 75mm radius, touching both circles and including
