Prof. Michael Joseph S.

Diño, PhD, MAN, RN, LPT is an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) and a member
of its Global Advisory Board (2015-2017) for two terms. He graduated Summa Cum Laude both in the Masters
(Nursing) and Doctoral Degree (Development Studies) from Our Lady of Fatima University and the Royal and
Pontifi cal University of Sto. Tomas, respectively. In 2011, he was chosen by the Rotary International as one of
Philippine Ambassadors of Goodwill for the District 3800 Group Study Exchange in Japan. He is also the fi rst
Asian to win the Nurse in the Limelight Innovator Award given by Connecting-Nurses in partnership with the
International Council of Nurses the Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation (NPHF), the Secrétariat
International Des Infi rmières et Infi rmiers de l'Espace Francophone (SIDIIEF) and the Association Française pour
le Développement de l'Education Thérapeutique (AFDET) because of his Telehealth in the Community Project for
Seniors. At present, he teaches various research courses in his affi liation and functions as an academic
consultant for Informatics, Outcomes-Based Education, Simulation and Research in various disciplines. He was
invited speak on various local and international events of different organizations, within and outside nursing,
including PACU.

As a researcher and development scientist, he has published numerous research papers in high impact
international journals on education, nursing and constructive integration of technology in teaching & learning.
He is one of the few authors who has initially published papers on the interesting area - Fourth Industrial Age/
Revolution (4IR) and how it will impact Healthcare Science and education in the near future.

At present, he is the Director of the Research Development and Innovation Center of the Our Lady of Fatima
University and President-Elect of the Phi Gamma Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in
Nursing.

His awards and global recognitions are numerous. To name just a recent few, he is the first non-American scholar
of the highly competitive Global Emerging Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy (ENFLA) of Sigma and
Chamberlain University in Indianapolis, Indiana for its 2018-2019 cohort. An ‘Excellence Awardee’ of the
University of Santo Tomas Graduate School for its Alumni Homecoming 2019, a Gawad Vicente M. Santos
Awardee for Leadership in 2019, and the Emerging Nurse Researcher Honoree of Sigma’s 30th Nursing
Research Congress held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada last July 2019 - the first Filipino to receive such recognition
from Sigma. He was also awarded by the Provincial Government of Bulacan as the 2019 Gintong Kabataan
(Golden Youth) awardee under the Professional Worker Category under the proclamation 139-2019, and
recently, one of the Global Nurse Leadership Institute Academy Scholars of the International Council of Nurses
for 2020. He is pursuing his second Phd at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland
