Usage-

2. Dial down (Phrasal verb)-
Meaning- ककसी चीज़/ मामले को शाांत करना, to soothe, to comfort
 Trick to remember- Fire brigade
Usage-
 The police had to intervene and dial down the communal

tensions.
 You need to dial down the intensity of your exercise routine
during a fever.

3. Escalation (Noun)
Meaning- ककसी चीज़/ मामले को और गांभीर/ सांजीदा िनाना, आगे िढ़ाना

Meaning- प्रतततनधि-मांडल, An expert group deployed for a task

Meaning- के सामने, face to face, compared to
 Trick to remember- try to replace it with “compared to” or “in

1. He is getting paid very handsomely vis-à-vis other actors in

the industry.
2. Sachin is a better batsman vis-à-vis any batsman in the

15. Multilateral
Meaning- कई पासो वाला, िहुपक्षीय, कई तरफ़ा

16. Undermine (Adjective)
Meaning- कमजोर िनाना
