They collaborated with each other and decided about the movements they were going to use for
their dance. They can make a video/ or take photos of their dance in order to share it among other
schools.

Save the oceans

Students through this activity helped Mr. Octopus to collect garbage from the oceans by
planning his correct route and programming the robot. Divided into three groups, one group
assembles the Ocean grid on the floor and decided on the beginning and end of the track. The
second team hid in some squares of the grid objects that pollute the sea, trapped animals.

The third group planned for Mr. Octopus - rescuer the right route, with the direction-cards and
helped him to collect the garbage and free the trapped animals.
This activity was also implemented as an unplugged activity, without using any educational
robotic kit.

Save the animals - Coding through storytelling

Students with the help of their teacher were going to create a story by getting inspired by the
illustration of Jérémie Carpentier. About the fires in Australia. They had to wonder “If this picture
is the beginning of a story, what might happen next?”. Then they illustrated the story. The
cards (children's drawings) or the objects were placed on the grid we have created. The main
goal was to help Foxie Planet ( the robot) to narrate the story.

Kindergarten Aghios Dimitrios Zante, Greece

The first team prepared the grid and placed the elements. The second team planned the route,
the third team programmed Foxie Planet.

How do animals feel?
The children in groups carefully observed images with dogs, their face and body and tried to
guess how they felt, utilizing the "Step inside" thinking routine. Then utilizing the "What makes
you say that" routine, the team argued for its views. After the team decided how it feels and why
the dog, the teacher recorded it in a thought bubble.

Children were beginning to realize that animals also feel some of the emotions that humans
experience. Finally, a group collage was created. Then, images were placed on the grid
depicting people with similar emotions to those of the animals observed by the groups. Each
group, after presenting the image of the animal that worked, observed the grid and identified the
image of the person who feels a corresponding emotion. The team programmed the robot to
lead it to that square.

Getting inspired by Cody Roby
– Let’s recycle

Cody Roby and Foxie Planet, work together and collect all recyclable packages for the blue bin, helping
the environment. Children through Cody Roby play by programming !!!

Primary School of Nevrokopi, Greece

Students had the chance to cultivate their computational thinking skills and had fun with coding.
Teachers and children enjoyed the whole process and had fun during the activities.
As we want to inspire more teachers we are planning to create a collaborative e-book and
share it with the educational community by encouraging them to participate in European Code
Week of 2021.

Do not forget coding connects us!!!!
