Course Objectives:
To understand the architectural elements as determining factor to perceive and articulate space , to stimulate
form –space relation and to understand the principles of composition in the organization of space, shape, form,
colour and texture.

Introduction to art and its philosophies and development of art and graphic skills.

Module I: Art and Graphic skills 40


Free hand sketching – Drawing People, Furniture and various rendering skills and
techniques like textures, materials, finishes using various equipment like rotoring
pens, airbrush, water colors, dry pastels and architectural drafting.
Comprehension of scale, still life drawing- from observation &memory, Nature. One
point and two Point Perspectives – presentation techniques.
Module II: Collage, Mural, Sculptures (3-D) 60
Collage with paper and various waste materials with theme and presentation, Mural
with different materials on live scale, Sculpture with different materials like P.O.P,
Clay etc.
Study of Solids and voids to evolve sculptural forms and spaces and explore the play
of light and shade and application of color. Analytical appraisal of building form in
terms of visual character, play of light and shade, solids and voids etc.
