8TH NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY ODISHA & BOSE & MITRA & CO.

INTERNATIONAL
MARITIME ARBITRATION MOOT [8TH – 11TH APRIL, 2021]

About NLUO
NLUO, established in the year 2009 by Act IV of 2008 of the State of Odisha, is a vibrant
addition to India's national law universities. Within a short span, NLUO has made a mark for
itself and is a formidable name in the mooting arena amongst all premier law schools of the
country.

About the National Law University Odisha & Bose & Mitra & Co. International
Maritime Arbitration Moot
The Moot Society of National Law University Odisha takes immense pleasure in announcing
that the University shall be organizing the eighth edition of its flagship event, the  8th
National Law University Odisha & Bose & Mitra & Co. International Maritime Arbitration
Moot. The participating teams will be challenged to expand their understanding and defend
their arguments rooted in theoretical as well as practical understanding of maritime law. The
case study for this edition has been drafted by Prof. Andrew Tettenborn, Chair in Law, LLM
Shipping & Trade; Prof. Simon Baughen, Professor (Maritime Law), LLM Shipping &
Trade; & Prof. Dr. George Leloudas, Associate Professor, LLM Shipping & Trade; at The
Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law, Swansea University, The United
Kingdom. We at NLUO-IMAM believe in a rigorous selection process with an aim to ensure
that the best teams proceed from the preliminary rounds and compete for the coveted prize.
Thus, this year, along with memorial qualifiers, we are proud to introduce four rounds in the
preliminary stage, where the top 20 teams will represent twice as claimants and twice as
respondents in the oral rounds. The oral rounds of moot is scheduled to take place from 8th –
11th April, 2021.
