New Learning Mode

1)According to Secretary Leonor Briones, “The SLMs and the other alternative learning delivery
modalities are in place to address the needs, situations, and resources of each and every learner and will
cover all the bases in ensuring that basic education will be accessible amid the present crisis posed by
COVID-19.” This means that all students and learners can still access learning despite the present
situation. Furthermore, the Department of Education ensures that all students in other rural areas will
get the necessary materials that they need for their learning.

2)“This is a chance for [children] to find something they love and do more of it than they would
otherwise get to,” says Mehta. Ultimately, you want them to look back at this period as one where they
got to spend some happy time with their family, and got to do some learning that they couldn’t do in
school.” Children are now having much leisure time to spend with their loved ones and personal
activities than usual. This new set of learning allows children to do some of the things that can help
them grow as an individual outside of school.

3) According to BYJU’s Mrinal Mohit “Over a period, we have observed that clever integration of games
has demonstrated higher engagement and increased motivation towards learning especially among
younger students, making them truly fall in love with learning.” This type of strategy in teaching can help
young learner to be more active in class especially nowadays. Carrying out virtual game activities, music
and song lessons are some examples.

Academic Performance and Parenting Style (Int.)

1) According to an article “Several studies have shown the existence of a relationship between parenting
styles and their children’s academic performance. Thus, democratic parenting styles have been
associated to higher grades, while neglectful styles have been associated to lower grades.” It only tells
that children with parental guidance are the ones who often excel in class and get higher grades.
