INSET 2020 REFLECTION

The inset 2020 serves as a huge help for every teachers across the nation. it
helps us build our confidence more as professionals and it helps to be more
motivated to learn new things despite of the pandemic.
As I was starting to reflect, I realized that there are so many things that I have
learned from this activity. Despite of all the limitations and barriers brought to us by
our current situation, we were still gathered virtually to learn more for our personal
and professional growth.
It started with the nature of reading wherein it was emphasized that reading is
the basic tool for learning. That is why, we teachers play a vital role in developing the
reading skills of the learners, so we have to fully extend our patience to them. No
matter what the circumstances are, we have to remain grounded and calm for the
betterment and development of our students. But we know teachers, that at the end
of the day, it is really fulfilling on our part if we were able to achieve our goal for our
learners. And it doesn’t stop there, because we teachers, also serves as juicer.
Why? Because in teaching we cannot directly give the fruit to our learners for them
to sip the juice from the fruit, it must undergo through a process. So, we teachers,
serves as the juicer who extracts the juice from the fruit before we give it to our
learners, just like in working with our most essential learning competencies, we
cannot directly give it to our learners cause we teachers, should unpack and extract
it first to make it from a complex learning competency to a specific learning
objectives to make it more simple and of course understandable for our learners,
because we don’t want our learners to suffer from learning our subject matters. And I
would like to thank Sir Richie Barte for sharing his knowledge to us, about the most
essential learning competencies. Lastly, we teachers also serves as counselors, not
just by our learners but also by our co-teachers, admins, parents of our learners, our
family and even the counselors of ourselves. We teachers, should always be there
for one another, even by just simply listening without any judgment. That is why, we
give importance to our mental health, because it is as important as our physical
health. We have gone through a lot of many challenges before but this year is just so
extraordinary. We have battled many trials and it is quite hard to find inner peace
because of so many uncertainties that causes our anxieties, fears and even doubts.
It is really a test of life and faith. But life must go on, and we are indeed moving on
cause look, where we are right now, it’s already Christmas season and we are all still
alive and kicking, and that is one of the most important things that we should be
thankful for. And I would like to thank Sir Junrey Villa, for sharing to us his time and
knowledge and for reminding us that we have to let go of the things that we cannot
control and focus on the things that we can, embrace reality accept it and learn to
adjust from it and above all to always put the lord as the center of our life.
