Don Cherry and

His Formal
Wear Shop
THE FOUNDER OF CHERRYWEAR: DON
CHERRY
Canadian Television personality who hosted the show
“Coach’s Corner” from the 1980’s until 2019

He was recognizable for the wacky suits that he wore

for every on screen appearance.

After that, he used his infamous name to create a

successful men’s formal wear shop.
BRAINSTORMING LOGOS

Pocket Square Single Red Rose

- Obvious reference to - The rose is something that Cherry always wears on
suits sold here his suits as recognition to his late wife Rose and
- Name can be stitched this could be a good meaning to make it a logo for
onto the pockets like his business
on this logo
CHERRYWEAR LOGO

More formal looking logo

Black and white tend to be seen

together in formal suits and outfits
and the addition of red adds the pop
of flamboyance that Cherry is known
for.

The red and white also symbolize the

Canadian pride that Cherry presents
as a public figure.
CHERRYWEAR BUSINESS SIGN
The shop would be a small outdoor
mall type shop that customers can
walk around and go into

I felt that the sign would be kind of

simple with just the logo for people to
see as they walk by and maybe some
suits in the window for outsiders to
look at (a suit with Canadian leaves
for Canada day, ghosts on Halloween
etc…)
CHERRYWEAR BUSINESS CARD
The business card would be on theme
with the plain black and white and
red would be used as sparingly as
possible

So the card holds all the information

needed for contact (phone numbers,
the address, email, and website) as
well as the phrase “Formal Wear
Extraordinaires” and it just worked
for the brand so I kept it.
CHERRYWEAR VINYL BANNER
Based on my vision of the store, I
couldn’t imagine where this banner
would actually be located so I settled
on the idea of it outside the Leaf’s
arena since in travel hockey, men
enter the arena in formal wear.

Similar to the business card, it is very

straight to the point. However, now
add the symbolic roses as a
background.
CHERRYWEAR PRINT AD
I had some difficulty but came up with
this.

A more formal blue suit and on the

front of the magazine his opening
gets a mention. I also mentioned the
world juniors to make it seem more
real. Next, for the actual article, I
wrote an entire article on the store
opening and I added the logo, a title,
and kept with the black, red, and
white theme.
