Business Analysis
COURSES DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide a higher level of understanding of
business systems, accounting concepts, working iwth financial information, data analysis skills, managing
business
OBJECTIVES:
Use technology to apply and enhance communication skills in technical reading, writing, speaking,
listening and viewing-the student will be able to:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of establishing and maintaining a


work-related network through social contacts.
2. Use appropriate etiquette and manners when communicating with people of varying
cultures
3. Participate in work-based learning experiences in a supervisory, management, or small
business environment
4. Discuss the use of technology in a supervisory, management, or small business
environment
5. Compare and contrast software application used in a supervisory, management, or small
business environment

TEXTBOOK/RESOURCES:

GRADING: Grades are giving for tests (seigh4), class work (weight 1), and home learning
(weight 1)
THE SCALE IS AS FOLLOWS:

90 – 100 = A 80 – 89 = B 70 – 79 = C 60 – 69 = D 00 – 59 =F

ASSIGNMENTS/TESTS: DO YOUR OWN WORK! NO CHEATING! Work that appears to be


REMARKABLY SIMILAR will result in al F for all students involved. Additionally, a lower effort and
conduct grade will result.

MAKE-UP WORK: ALL students re responsible for making up work missed while they are absent. This
work must be turned in within a week after returning to school, unless the absence was an extended
one, in which case the student must discuss a make-up schedule with the teacher.

HOME LEARNING ASSIGNMENTS: Home learning will be assigned and graded regularly.

ACTIVITIES: All class members are encouraged to join FBLA-FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA.
It provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop leadership skills and promotes an interest in
business careers. Annual dues for National, State and District will be $20.00 this includes a T-Shirt.
CLASS RULES:
Uniform Policy : Attire must be in accordance with the M-DCPS dress code policy.

1. Arrive on time. Conduct grade may be lowered due to numerous, unexcused tardiness.
2. Always bring supplies to class.
3. Assignments should be identified with name, date and period.
4. No food, drinks, or gum.
5. No hats are to be worn in classroom (males or females)
6. No phones, MP3 players, or electronic devices allowed. Devices will be confiscated and returned
to parents or guardians only.
7. Writing on desks or tampering with equipment is forbidden.
8. Remain in seat until the bell rings
9. Sit in assigned seat.
10. Leave work area clean. Discard trash in wastebaskets. Put chair in place when you leave.
11. ID’s and school uniform must be worn at all times.
12. No cheating. Cheating will result in grave consequences

DETENTION - MAY BE ASSIGNED FOR:

1. EXCESSIVE TARDIES
2. ABIUSE OF INTERNET
3. ABUSE OF HALL PASS
4. DISREGARD FOR CLASS RULES (see #1-12 above)

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Planner, Flash Drive, Binder, Divider, (4), Pen, Pencil and Paper.

***Participation Grade of “Z” will be given for every day you are not prepared.
