The Culinary Arts Contract

Welcome to Coral Gables Senior High. You decided to join the Culinary Arts Program- Academy of
Culinary Arts. This elective is an annual course. This course prepares students for employment in the
Foodservice/Hospitality Industry. It is extremely important to me that you have a successful year, one
that challenges you and prepares you to reach whatever educational, career, and personal goals you
may have. I will also do my best to achieve these goals, but your success is ultimately up to you. To
ensure that we all have a successful (and fun) year each of you are required to follow some simple
class procedures.
Procedures
1. Signin Daily for school attendance and class Microsoft Teams/KP Education Compass/ K12 Learning.
2. Participate daily in the live sessions.
3. Check your emails Daily for updates. Email us for any questions.
4. Cooperate in live sessions.
5. Be prepared for class. Being prepared for class means that each student has all necessary
materials for each class. Full uniform, sit on a desk, paper, pencil, etc.
6. All assignments and projects are expected to be complete and turned in on time.
7. Averaging class assignments, home learning, class projects and lab activities will determine your
grade.
8. You will always know what is expected of you on specific assignments; if you do what is expected,
you should earn and excellent grade.
9. Respect yourself, as well as, other students, any adults (including substitute teachers), and objects
and equipment in the classroom or in virtual setting.
10. All district and school policies regarding dress, attendance, class work, and home learning will be
observed in our class.
11. if you fail to follow the procedures online/in class you will be removed from class and
reprimanded. You will receive a “0” for participation and your parents will be contacted.
12. BUT… Most of all have FUN while doing all the above. We are all in this together!
Material/Lab Fee- CASH ONLY or Online OSP- NO LAB FEES YET.
a. $55 that is to 5e paid to Mr. Flores/Ms.Vera. CASH ONLY or Online OSP.
b. $10 Academy Fee paid to Mrs. Monzon Room 3132. CASH ONLY or Online OSP.
