CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
1. You are expected to enter the classroom quietly, put cell phones away and go directly to your seat.
2. The sound of the bell means I need your attention. You are expected to respond immediately.
3. You are expected to use the restroom during passing so that the entire class period can be devoted to
class work. However, if you MUST use the restroom, you will sign out when you leave and sign in when
you return.
4. You are solely responsible for the use of your group work time. If the time is used to socialize, the work
will be subpar and will be reflected in your grade.
5. No food or beverage (except water) is allowed in the classroom.
6. You are expected to use the class period for BIOLOGY only. There will be consequences for all breaches.
7. Prior to the end of the class period, you will remove your trash to the respective trash receptacles and
clean your workspace. I will check each workspace prior to dismissal.
8. At the end of the class period, you will remain seated until you are dismissed, one table or row at a time.
You must see me to make up any work due to absences. It is your responsibility to find out what was done in
class and set up a time to make up any class work, tests or quizzes. You will have a maximum of five days to
make up any missed work. If in doubt, check Edmodo for all postings or ask a classmate.
If you are in school and fail to turn in an assignment on its given due date, the late work policy outlined in the
Student Handbook will be adhered to, up to a maximum of three days. After three days, you will keep the “F” or
lower grade earned. Special circumstances will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
ASSESSMENTS
Your final grade will be based on a variety of quizzes (announced and unannounced), tests, group assignments,
EDpuzzle activities, Edmodo assignments, and Nearpod activities. I do not give away extra points to “bump grade”
so please do not ask. There may or may not be extra credit opportunities, it depends of availability of activities.
EXTRA HELP
You may see me for extra help after school between 2:20 pm and 3:20 pm (by appointment).
CHEATING
If you are caught cheating, you will receive a zero for that assignment and you will not have an opportunity to
make it up.
