Write an essay on any of the following:

1. Upholding ethical corporate practices increases overall profitability of business.

2. How do you see yourself as an engineer acting/promoting ethical practices?
3. Ethical behaviours/practices prevents markets from being competitive.

I, Benny Carlo, strongly believe that upholding ethical corporate practices

increases overall profitability of business because we normally hear that people

say: “The customer is always right”, technically the five word sentence isn’t

correct. Customers can absolutely be wrong, we all are human beings, no one

would absolutely be perfect. There will always be room for improvements. Going

back to the five word sentence, practically it basically means that we shall

prioritize our customers no matter what.

Costumers in a company are called clients. In a company or a business

hard work, dedication, systematic planning and good organization are some

factors that make them stand in the competitive world but having no client/s

would basically brake them down from running in the race, zero profit.

Ethical practices in a big company or business are normally present.

Practices that’s not just for their clients but in their own community, organization

and in their whole work environment.

Ethical issues include the rights and duties between a company and

its employees, suppliers, customers and neighbors, its fiduciary (A fiduciary is

a legal or ethical relationship of trust between two or more parties.) responsibility

to its shareholders. Issues concerning relations between different companies

include hostile take-overs and industrial espionage. Related issues

include corporate governance; corporate social entrepreneurship; political

contributions; legal issues such as the ethical debate over introducing a crime

of corporate manslaughter; and the marketing of corporations' ethics policies.

According to IBE/ IPSOS MORI research published in late 2012, the three major

areas of public concern regarding business ethics in Britain are executive pay,

corporate tax avoidance and bribery and corruption.
