Recent Changes
In this fun guessing game, students use situations to create sentences about recent changes
in their lives with the phrases: I used to, I didn't use to and I'm getting used to. Their partner
then has to guess what has happened.

Before class, make one copy of the worksheet for each pair of students.

Procedure

Explain to the students that you are going to give them a set of situations. The situations
focus on recent changes in people’s lives.

Tell the students that they have to imagine that the situations happened to them and write
sentences about what they used to do and didn't use to do, and what they are getting used
to according to the situation.

Divide the class into two groups (A and B) and give each student the corresponding part of
the worksheet.

Tell the students to work with the people in their group and complete the sentences in a way
that is appropriate for each situation.

When they finished writing their sentences, ask them to pair up with someone from the other
group.

The students take it in turns to read out the sentences they have written and their partner
has to guess what has happened.
