Our hopes for aspiring historians:

Curiosity and empathy
 “
Having taken History prior, I naturally went with the more familiar option,
though I was worried about the subject load at first. Eight months in, I
haven’t regretted my decision :)
Having foundations in history helped me greatly, but
the content is nonetheless manageable for all, an
interesting extension from what was learnt earlier, and
overall an extremely fulfilling experience. There are
opportunities to dabble in political science and even
historiography. If you want to learn more about how the
world around us was shaped and is being shaped to
this very day, history is the choice for you!

I think history was daunting at first especially since i hadn’t taken it prior, and i
didn’t quite know what to expect. In the end, it was actually super refreshing to
learn this new subject :)

The nature of its content is really enriching and it

broadens our perspective of the world (e.g. view our
society/world in a more in-depth way). I now have a
richer understanding of our collective history, and the
passion of history teachers who lecture and teach us is
also contagious :))
