TV-VIDEO/ RADIO-BASED INSTRUCTION

The Covid-19 pandemic has been one of the biggest obstacle to

education. Many schools have different kind of learning delivery modality to

ensure that learning never stops. They have the Online LDM that uses an

internet connection, Modular LDM that uses self-learning Modules and also

the TV-Video/Radio Based LDM that uses Equipment such as radio and

television.

With the use of Radio and Television Students who are not capable of

surfing the internet to earn and do a research can still continue to learn and

understand their lesson. This kind of Instruction in a learning delivery modality

will help learners who are less fortunate can still ensure that they can still

have a good quality education.

As a teacher, I know that with the use of these equipment in learning in

this time of pandemic can help learners to learn and be educated.

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM (ALS)

Alternative Learning System (ALS) as an alternative solution to reach-

out for the less fortunate; who for some reasons were unable to go or

continue on their education, symbolizes hope and a second chance to those

who are determine to bring betterment to their lives. It gives them the courage

to go on and aim for success. The programs it offers are the alternative and

equivalency for elementary and secondary, basic literacy program, and

livelihood (welding, baking and waving). The programs were implemented by

specialized teachers namely; the District ALS Coordinator (commonly known

as DALC), the Mobile Teacher, and the Instructional Manager.

Knowing about the ALS, I presume that it is a big help to everyone who

is not capable of finishing their studies due to their current financial situation

this program will be a big help. Students under the ALS program can

synchronize studying while working for their family. They can still pursue their

studies even there are not attending in a school but in a center facility. They

can still learn even if it’s a once a week schedule. Also this program will be a

help to the learners to continue pursuing their dreams and be more confident

in studying.

As a teacher, I have encountered students in a regular school who are

over age upon their grade level. This situation sometimes led them to be a bit

shy due their age or be a rebel one inside the classroom. But upon this ALS
program those over age students can now learn without being bullied or shy

with their classmates.
