REFLECTION
The essence of a keyboard basically is ‘typing’, and, for me, typing is a action to express our idea and to communicate
with others. So, I have a preconceived thought towards keyboard which share similar process as we speak. When we speak,
our brain generate signal through the nerve to the msucle from the voice box while pressing a button on the keyboard is
somehow similar to that. When we apply force to the key, the force is transmitted to the conductive rubber below, which
will contact the circuit board, creating a close circuit, so a word can be transfer from our brain to the computer. That is
what I am trying to interpret in the section of a basic unit of the keyboard.

Through the plan drawing, we can discover that a keyboard can be thought as a combination of numerous buttons. It
seems to be identical, but when we look closer in detail, the identical structure is to maintain stable force applying to each
key, but there is also different detail to enhance a better typing experience.

It is noticed that typing is a very quick action, so my scope to study the keyboard is trying to find out if there is any
relationship to our body. I find out that the keys on different column have various height and slope. It is interesting that
when we are typing fast within different column (vertical movement), our finger is performing a to and fro action like
graping and releasing.

The layout of the keyboard is separated into several zone, it is noted that the character keys are located in the mid-
dle part of the keyboard, while for other function keys they located separated around the character keys. When I study the
motion of the fingers movement on the keyboard, it is easily observed with the light track that the hand do not big move-
ment because the buttons frequently used are put to adjacent.

After the analysis, I find out that even an unremarkable object we used in our daily life contain its logic, dealing with
a better interaction to human body.
