CELSO G. REGENCIA
City Mayor
Iligan City

Dear Mayor Regencia,

Greetings of peace and best of health!

The Department of Tourism (DOT) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
has signed a Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 2020-001 which contains the specific
guidelines for the provision of cash assistance and cash-for-work program for tourism workers
that were displaced due to the ongoing pandemic.

Employees of DOT-accredited tourism enterprises and local government units (LGU)-licensed

primary tourism enterprises that have retrenched their workforce or undergone temporary or
permanent closure will be eligible to apply for the cash-for-work program, or avail of a one-time
financial assistance equivalent to P5,000. The amount will be sourced from the P3 billion
allocation for tourism workers under Section 4 of Republic Act 11494 or the Bayanihan to
Recover As One (Bayanihan 2).

Members of duly registered Community-Based Tourism Organizations (CBTOs) that were

affected by the pandemic are likewise qualified to avail of the cash assistance and apply for the
cash-for-work program.

With this, we would like to forward you the list of identified CBTOs of Iligan City that have been
affected by the pandemic. These displaced workers will need the certification of the local
government for them to qualify for their application for the aforementioned cash-for-work
program.

In behalf of the Community-Based Tourism Organizations (CBTOs) of Iligan City, I would like to
express my heartfelt gratitude in supporting the office and its affiliated organizations in this
time of pandemic.

Sincerely,

SHAYMA L. DAISON
Senior Tourism Operations Officer
Iligan City Tourism Office
