vacuum
Advantage Disadvantage
Caution

Advantage Disadvantage
Faster evacuation time Weight of the vacuum generator will be on the moving axis of the
application
Example 1
Service unit: MS4, 1/4 inch connection
QNN = 2000 l/min. flow rate
Example 2
1st group of bars in Fig.4/17: According to the dimensioning
formula (Fig.4/16), PUN 4 will be adequate for the vacuum
generator VN−07−H (Laval nozzle diameter 0.7 mm). Due to
the increase in volume of 1.4 % (from 1000 cm3 to 1014 cm3)
caused by the 2.5 m long PUN 4 tubing, the evacuation time
rises by 77 % (from 6.2 s to 11 s). The time advantage of
short tubing is even greater at low vacuum levels, see 1st and
2nd bar groups in Fig.4/17.
The influence of the nominal tubing diameter is even greater
in the case of vacuum generators with a low−volume suction
cup.
