1. What is your definition of art? Art appreciation?

A piece is considered as art if someone brings something into existence using craft and
technique, this means being able to use hands, legs, voice, etc, whatever we use to bring it into
existence. Art is something that has been done with the outcome of specific skills or following an
orientation by the context it belongs. It also extends as all human thought, impulse or feeling
expressed imaginatively even in the absence of formal verbal language. Art Appreciation defines
as understanding the visual arts critically. It is an exploration of the nature of art, the different
techniques, materials and ideas that go into making art, and the development of comfort in
approaching unfamiliar art.

2. How can art be an aid to better citizenship? Give examples to illustrate this.

Art can be a precise medium for the population to make them visualize the message more
clearly. It has the ability to offer new perspectives on old problems, to surprise and to help
people connect to issues in new ways that also require touching people on an emotional level. An
example of this is the Advocacy for women's right, by using art as the medium to send the
message about this, it helps to make the people increase their awareness about this issue.

3. In what ways does art contribute to the physical, social, and spiritual well-being of man?

Art therapy has been used for healing and improving general well-being throughout history. Art
making is known to be a source of relaxation and it is a great method of self-expression. It's just
that you can look at art and escape the world for a few moments. It makes you forget about bad
things. It's like dreaming with open eyes. Art is something humans need. They couldn't live
without it, their lives but be boring and blank. Art is for the people that seek a higher purpose
and lead to a stronger spirit. The arts foster creativity, without which progress in all areas of
human endeavour would stop.

4. Choose 1 from the assumptions of art. Share your experiences to prove if there is truth
or contrary to it.

1 common assumption in art is that "art is not nature" which I agreeing with. Art is not natural
because, in many ways, art is not "natural", it is an artificial construct created by man.
Sometimes it appears to be close to nature or it may even sometimes "go beyond" nature but it
always returns to the heart, mind, and hands of man. if you define art as nature is art then
everything in the universe becomes art and therefore art essentially loses any meaning. My
experience in this situation is when clouds form a silhouette of an object, sometimes even the
event in nature can create an artistic composition by accident, but, here, it's just that we
recognize an aesthetic orientation within its situation.

5. Explain your stand about this proposition: "Art is good because it is popular".

art is good because it's good. Humans are a very predictable organism, we often shared the same
perspective on the same thing, If I find the music "Buwan" by Juan Carlos very pleasing because
of the nostalgic feeling it gave to us the same sa kundiman, I am very sure that you'll also think
about it the same way, the same principle applied in visual art, media art, literature and others.
Not all popular Art is good because it has been only hyped up by established dealers, celebrities
and other influencers that lead to the norms to follow it only as a trend.

Activity 3. Reflection Paper

Austin Kleons presented in his speech about the "How To Steal Like An Artist " in his TedTalk.
He stated that nothings are completely original and all creative works are built on what came
before. Artists thrive on inspiration, and great ideas may be inspired by the work of
others.nothing is completely original, all creative works are built on what came before. In this
situation, many artists are not yet ready to face this situation, it's either they don't want to admit it
their selves or they don't want to expose themselves to it. Artists, musicians, and writers use
existing ideas to create new ones. Not all the time but there are times that something beforehand
created sparks an idea that uses the original differently. The choice of words is confusing.
Borrow and steal refer to property rights over physical objects and take on moral questions of
property laws. Other artists are saying that creative thief is acceptable but other artists are being a
hypocrite about it. Borrowing is a good way to learn art, allowing the beginner to "walk in the
shoes" of a genius. To be able to make it your own, you gotta steal those shoes and walk your
path. That's what makes a great artist.
