Hi, my name is MANUEL ALEJANDRO MEDRANO LOPEZ better known as

Manuel Medrano. I’m a Colombian singer-songwriter. I was born in Cartagena de

Indias, Colombia on October 29 of 1987. When I was 14 years old, my parents
gave me a red guitar and that’s how I started to sing. Later when I turn 16 years
old, I started to write my own songs and that’s the reason i was motivated to start
my career in the musical industry, playing along the year in a lot of pubs until i
developed my career as soloist. In that time, I was just a child who likes alcohol
and sing, I didn’t like school and my grades were bad until my parents talked to me
and they make me realized that I had talent so I left de bad habits and I took
seriously the singing.

My jump into fame it was due to YouTube, I played songs from famous artists and I
won the people’s hearts, in 2015 I uploaded to YouTube my own music video
“Afuera del Planeta” and later that year I uploaded another music video “Bajo el
Agua” and that’s when I became famous. At the end of 2015 I released my album
“Manuel Medrano” I wrote all the songs and the album was nominated in 3
categories at the Grammy Latino.

In 2017 I started to sing with others singers like Vanesa Martin and Felipe Ospina, I
also was part of a tribute to Juan Gabriel a Mexican singer-songwriter.

After 2 years without released something, I released “Buena” and “Mi Otra mitad”
songs that belongs to my new album, this album doesn’t has name yet but I will
release the album soon.

Interview.
Reporter: hi Manuel, thank you for letting me do this interview to you. It’s
really nice to meet you. ¿How are you?

Celebrity: oh, you’re welcome; it’s nice to meet you too. I’m good. Ask me
wherever you want.

Reporter: ok Manuel, tell me. To start ¿When did you realized that music was
the thing you love the most?

Celebrity: wow, well I was in high school and I didn’t like it! I was super lazy I
preferred to visit a girl in another classroom that entered into my classes. Because
of that, I failed the curse and to punish me, my parents gave me a red guitar. They
thought that the guitar would be awful to me but that guitar is the reason I love
music.
Reporter: wow, that’s funny. If your parents hadn’t given you that guitar,
were you an artist?

Celebrity: well, I haven’t thought that you know. But I think that no; probably I would
never try playing some instrument. I’m grateful that they gave me that guitar.

Reporter: I’m grateful too you know. Your music is amazing. I know that you
start your career here in México, ¿How was that?

Celebrity: well, I wish I could start my career in my own country but I didn’t have
the chance, so I had to come here to try.

Reporter: ¿Do you like México? ¿Are you living here? Or you just come when
you need to?

Celebrity: I really love México, it’s an awesome country. And no, I do not live here; I
only come when I have to record some music or when I have to be in some
program.

Reporter: ¿what is the thing you like the most in México?

Celebrity: That would be the food. It is really amazing.

Reporter: ¿What is your favorite Mexican food?

Celebrity: Tacos, no more. It is the best thing in México.

Reporter: I know, it is my favorite food too. Tell me about your music. Will
you release music soon? ¿Are you working on something new lately?

Celebrity: well actually yes, I’m working on something new to my fans; the two last
songs that I released were different to the others. I’m trying new genres and
sounds. In 3 or 4 months I will release new music.

Reporter: that’s great! ¿when will you do a concert here in Mexico? Your
fans want to see you.

Celebrity: well, honestly I don´t know but I hope to make one soon.

Reporter: I hope that too. Well to finish I want to make you the last question.
Which country do you prefer? Colombia or México?

Celebrity: oh my god I can answer that. I love both. I can’t decide.
