Angel Aguda gives a persuasive speech on why he loves Korean music, specifically the group Enhypen. He discusses how in the past he did not understand the appeal of K-pop but after his sister introduced him to various groups, he found himself loving their music and messages. Aguda shares how listening to Enhypen's journey from pre-debut helped him struggle through challenges, and their positivity and work ethic continue to inspire him. He argues that Enhypen gives him confidence and encourages him to be his true self, concluding that through connection across differences, "we can work it out together."

In the genre of South Korean music there are various team up
groups and individuals that conveyed music with their own unique ways. K-pop music has been all around the world as it was always on top leaderboard in music genres, despite of its foreign language a lot of people still love to listen to their music. Many people throwing their comments about this topic; others saying ‘why do you all tend to listen to this kind of music?’, ‘You cannot even understand that language, is in it embarrassing to love their language/music than your own?’. I know it is a human nature to give comments or judge someone or something based on their own perspective, we, people, tend to listen on what we believe is right, we never listen to other people, we never consider someone’s feelings and we never respect someone’s taste on something. Same as what I was saying, in terms of music, we could all have somethings in common and somethings in different, yet some people did not understand what other people love, they make judgements that are inappropriate and inconsiderable.
Here now I am standing in front of you all, brave and strong to
prove you all wrong about what a Korean music is. Let me start with some basic information, “What really is K-Pop?” K-pop is a short term for ‘Korean Music’ which all composed of various team up groups and individuals that conveyed music with their own unique talents. K-pop starts ages ago but early this 20 th century, K-pop became more influenced all around the world, some of the non- Korean music have the influence of Korean genre. In our country, the Philippines, also have its influences. We now have P-pop (Pinoy Pop) as we all call them. Personally, I did consider myself as one of the people who really love music especially this K-pop genre. We, people who loved K-pop, called ourselves a ‘fan’, who loved not only our favorite artists’ music but also their own personalities. We may not understand their language but that does not stop us loving them and their music. One of the reasons why I really love Korean music was because of the deep message and emotions it depicts, the artists shows their experiences in life through their music which sometimes I can see myself in that particular song.
In this speech I would also like to share my own experience in this
path that I have chosen. In terms of my choice of Korean group to Stan for, I usually focus on one particular group that I would love listening to. And I really hope that after sharing this experience I would love to know if I did able to persuade and somehow convinced you to love K-pop.
Year 2016, I clearly have remembered myself saying that I would
never Stan or even listen to this kind of music, I cannot even understand it so why waste time? I would rather listen to some Pilipino songs. But this thought of mine literally changed after only a year, early 2017 my sister introduced a lot of K-pop groups to me, she told me every single thing about what does she love about them, I was in awe after listening to it and still could not believe what their music have helped her through her life. I tried listening to their music and obviously I do not understand any bit of it as it was in a foreign language, so I did google the song lyrics and finally I found myself loving them. This continued until now, the first group I really Stan was BTS but I also used to listen to other group. There are many different Korean groups like BTS, EXO, Big Bang, Got7, Red Velvet, Twice, Blackpink and many other Korean groups that you can think of. And as for me, these days I really love listening to one group that is famously known as En-hypen, they are composed of seven members in total, debuted last year of November 30th under a company named Belift Entertainment. Enhypen was formed through a survival show called ‘i-Land’ under a collaboration between M-net (a company) and Hybe Labels (a company). I truly loved them all as I loved myself, they are one of the reasons why I never give up despite of everything that I have faced, they are one of the reasons why I kept on fighting and still standing strong as I struggle a lot. I have known En-hypen since their pre-debut era, I been there since the start I have seen them struggled through the weekly tasks, I saw how they improved, I saw them laughing, getting mad and crying. They have been through a lot, and still not giving up and look what they are now, they have become the most influential group as of 2020. En-hypen made me realized about something in real life and that is ‘no matter how hard your life is, never think of giving up instead look up, stand strong and face it’. Everything happens for a reason so is in reality, every events we have faced, will face and facing have a better result at the end. I also experienced buying an album which is a good concept, it provides me sense of belongings as I sing my heart out. To all non- fans out there might find this nonsense but for me En-Hypen gave me a huge source of encouragement, from the way they give their best in whatever they do made me wanting to do the same. I can say that En-Hypen is really worth stanning for because they have visuals, vocals and their music emanates happiness and positivity around the world. Another reason is because of their humidity, the way they treated their own fans as if they are just a group of friends hanging out and to disregard their social status, they freely and happily interact with their fans while maintaining things in order. They will remind you to who you are and to not be afraid of showing the real you. Over all, En-Hypen will give you the confidence you might need, they will give you inspirations to step out of your comfort zone in order to show your true selves. And to end my speech I would like to remind you all that ‘to connect makes us special’, connection makes things work together. We may all have different personalities; but we can work it out together through connecting these differences to make a new one.
