SUBJECT: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND PLANNING

(IRR) of presidential degree (P.D.) No. 1096, otherwise known as the 1977 National Building Code of the
Philippines (NBCP) i.e. ONLY as downloaded and reproduced from the PRBoA website at
www.architetureboard.ph. The use of other IRR versions are specifically disallowed during this examination.

PROJECT NO. 2 A Proposed Sport Complex:


A. A Proposed Three (3) Storey, Sport Complex, Group I Project Development, on a Project Site with a 3%
slope towards East.

B. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

The National Sport Commission acquired a lot to put up a venue to uplift the moral of our National Athletes
to bring home pride for our country. The FIFTEEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY SQUARE METER
(15,360.00 SQ.M.) property located along Institutional zone of Manila shall be developed to serve as training
ground for athletes and at the same time serve the nearby communities.

The Project development shall consider pre-stressed method of construction to take advantage of having
wider spaces to avoid obstruction on the activities of different sport facilities. The ground floor will consider high
ceiling to provide mezzanine for office spaces while utility facilities provided below the mezzanine, the second
and third floor will house the different training program on different sport. All floors will have a direct access thru
every floor of the multi-level parking. Access of the multi-level parking is provided directly on the service road
for in and out of the premises to avoid vehicular pollution inside the open development of sport facilities.

C. PROJECT SITE FEATURES:

The Project Site is a through lot with 128-meter wide frontage that is facing east. The 30-meter road right of
way (RROW) is at 0.0 elevation. Under section 1004 of the National Building Code (PD 1096), The width of a
sidewalk shall not be less than 1/3 of the road right of way. Parking as one of the essential needs of any
establishment, and a limited space in the site, a multi level parking is consider as part of the structure. The
service road at the rear side is 12-meter wide with a 2-meter sidewalk.

D. DESIGN OBJECTIVES
a. To plan/design the Project that will benefit not only the community but as well the National
Athletes.
b. The Project should consider characteristic that will show strength, courage and
dependability to enhance the characteristic of the user.
c. Provision of roof deck should be consider for the future vertical expansion.
