SUBJECT: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND PLANNING

of presidential degree (P.D.) No. 1096, otherwise known as the 1977 National Building Code of the Philippines
(NBCP) i.e. ONLY as downloaded and reproduced from the PRBoA website at www.architetureboard.ph. The
use of other IRR versions are specifically disallowed during this examination.

PROJECT NO. 3 A Proposed Food Processing Plant:


A. A Proposed Two (2) Storey with Mezzanine, Office and Food Processing Plant, I-1 (Industrial One) a
light Industrial use, on an open 3-hectares lot.

B. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

A well-known Company that produce mixes and sauces commission an Architect to put up a
Building/Structure for their processing needs as part of their expansion and continuous program of development.

The Structure will initially combined warehouse of raw materials and finish products within the processing
plant as well as the offices. One of the essential factor to consider is the room temperature considering all the
cooking and heating process of the production, despite the availability of mechanical means, the company
wanted an economical solution on that matter.

The proposed structure will consider building footprint of 1,728.00 sq.m. area, The structure is 24-meter
wide and 72-meter long. Provide all necessary utility facilities. Provision of loading and unloading dock is very
important for the unloading of raw materials and loading of finish product. Compliance with sanitary is important
also with the production as well as fire safety of the premises.

C. PROJECT SITE FEATURES:

The Project Site is located within Industrial zoning, having Total lot Area (TLA) of 30,240 square meters with
108-meter frontage facing East and 30-meter wide road. As part of the Phase 1 of the project development it
takes into consideration to put up the first structure at the rear part of the elongated site with a distance of 250-
meter from the road access which will also consider the road development on the site serving the proposed
structure.

D. DESIGN OBJECTIVES
a. To plan/design the Project in compliance with the DENR requirements.
b. To Project should consider type of building materials to use for future expansion or
possibly relocation.
c. The Project should consider space frame for wider space and higher overhead.
d. The Project should consider procedural activities of the production.
e. To plan/design the Project considering less manpower but more on advance equipment
and machinery.
