Structural engineers combine science and art to design and build our world's infrastructure to

safely resist natural and man-made forces. Buildings, bridges, stadiums, off-shore and other
civil facilities define the traditional core focus of structural engineers.
Nowadays, steel structure building or residence have become a trend. Thus, advantages and
problems of developing steel structure residence are analysed. Some advices on the present
problems were put forward. Today, I am going to highlight one of the problems that might be
faced during steel structure buildings are built.

As we know, all metals will undergo corrosion in the presence of moisture and oxygen. Same
thing happened to steel structure. The corrosion of structural steel is an electrochemical
process that requires the simultaneous presence of moisture and oxygen. The major factor
that causes corrosion of steel building is environmental factor. As an engineer, my
responsibility is to slow down the process of corrosion of building and make your building
last longer to ensure that your metal building has a long, rust-free life. It starts with the
planning process and it continues throughout the life of the metal building. Choose a
qualified, experienced company to build your metal building. It is the first and most
important thing when u construct a steel structure building. An engineer should make
knowledgeable recommendations on decisions like materials, location, and design.

Proper insulation is vital when preventing excess moisture from accumulating and mixing
with oxygen. Your insulation needs a radiant barrier which will reduce heat transfer and will
reduce condensation that leads to corrosion. Temperature and humidity should be counted in
throughout the process of construction. Proper ventilation should also be installed because it
allows air and moisture to freely pa
ss through a structure, keeping everything dry - as it should be.
Next, I want to talk about tower structure. A tower is a tall structure, taller than it is wide,
often by a significant margin. Towers are distinguished from masts with guy-wires
supporting the entire structure along with tall buildings which are self-supporting structures.
Towers are specifically distinguished from "buildings" in that they are not built to be
habitable but to serve other functions. The principal function is the use of their height to
enable various functions to be achieved. Up to a certain height, a tower can be made with the
supporting structure with parallel sides. However, above a certain height, the compressive
load of the material is exceeded and the tower will fail. This can be avoided if the tower's
support structure tapers up the building.
