Case Based Examination

Pizza Store
A group of young university graduates set out to open their own company. They are all very keen
to start designing websites for different clients in Kampala City. Most of them have very good
HTML and CSS skills acquired at university. Upon opening their company in the City they
receive a client who is interested in setting up a website for his business that sells Pizza in the
area and is interested in having an online presence that help his clients order for Pizza, online in
the comfort of their homes or on their mobile devices. Currently orders of Pizza are kept in files
using papers and this has led to loss of information, insecurity and data redundancy. It is against
this background that a web based system for tracking Pizza orders will be developed that will
allow stake holders access orders immediately from anywhere in the country, provide security by
authentication and also reduce redundancy.

ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT FOLLOW;

a) Explain the problem and benefits that led to the development of the new system described in
the case study above. (10 marks)

b) Evaluate the disadvantages Pizza Store may face in using the online system to conduct its

c) Evaluate the contribution of internet technology to the development of Education Sector. (10
marks)
d) When developing and setting up this website what languages would be used to make this
website interactive, informative, dynamic, nice looking and well laid out? (10 marks)
e) HTML and CSS are commonly used for developing static Web pages whose content that
cannot change without a developer editing its source code.
i. Give reasons that make the HTML a good language for designing web pages. (10 marks)
ii. Assess the main benefits of using Cascading Style Sheets in designing web pages (10
marks)
