DEVICES: THEIR
APPLICATIONS AND
USES
By Logan Abbott
DSLR
Digital Single Lens Reflex or DSLR cameras are
the pinnacle choice of camera for professional
photographers worldwide. They have an
interchangeable lens for a wide variety of
settings, have complete control over both
aperture size and shutter speed, feature easy to
use LCD screens, and they are compact/light
enough to be a viable choice for a dynamic
photographer. DSLR cameras are used to take
ready-to-edit photos in extremely high detail and
with the right equipment this is possible almost
anywhere. The downside of the DSLR camera is
that you must have a basic understanding of
lenses, apertures, shutters, and ISO settings.
SLR
The Single Lens Reflex or SLR camera is similarly a
prototype to the DLSR camera. It features many
mirrors and prisms to capture light, and store said
images on rolls of film. This means SLR cameras are
often heavier than their digital counterparts, but one
could argue the overbuilt metal construction will
make the camera more durable and withstand the
tests of time. The benefit of having a SLR camera is
the quality of photo produced. The dynamic range,
depth of colour, and contrast are unmatched by even
the most advanced DSLR cameras on the market.
Buying an SLR camera is an investment but it will
most certainly be able to make a hefty return and
many SLR cameras can be sold for a profit after many
years of continuous use.
Mobile Device
Mobile device cameras are the most common type of camera
throughout the world because almost every cell phone is equipped
with one. They are extremely convenient because people will usually
have these close by and it is very simple to take a quick snapshot or
use the modern technology to take a high-quality planned
photograph. Modern mobile devices are also user friendly as much of
the work is automated for you, making it simple for anyone to capture
a moment of time and lock it away forever. Mobile device cameras are
not only for the average joe but are now capable of taking
professional photographs with a great convenience, cost, and
accessibility.
