“DSLR CAMERA (CANON)

DSLR stands for digital single-lens reflect – or a digital SLR camera. It is a digital camera that
combines a digital imaging sensor with the mechanisms and optics of a single-lens reflex
camera.

A DSLR camera is an advanced device that relies on many things to create a good
photograph. DSLR combines the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera
with a digital imaging sensor.

CAMERA:

i) The first camera “OBSCURA” was invented in 1021.

ii) First portable camera was invented in 1685.
iii) In 1991 first professional digital camera was introduced.
iv) World’s first photograph ever captured in 1826.
#1 ISO: ISO is the level of your sensitivity of your camera. The lower the ISO number, the
less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases the sensitivity of your
camera.

Example:

#2APERTURE:
Aperture is one of the three pillars of photography, the other two being ISO and Shutter
Speed. Aperture either adds a dimension to a photograph by blurring the background, or
magically brings everything in focus. Aperture is a hole within a lens, through which light
travels into the camera body. It is easier to understand the concept of aperture if you just
think about your eyes. Cameras are designed like human eyes.

Aperture example:
#3 shutter: In photography, a shutter is a device that allows a light to pass for a determined
period of time, exposing photographic film or a light- sensitive electronic sensor to light in
order to capture a permanent image of a scene.

Shutter speed example:

The shutter speed is the unit of measurement which determines how long the shutter
remains open as the pictures is taken. Shutter speed are expressed in seconds of fractions of
a second.

#4 CCD: CCD stands for Charged Coupled Device. It is the digital equivalent of film. The CCD
captures an image by taking the light and translating it into digital data. There are thousands
of tiny little pixels that make up a digital image. It is through the pixels that the light is
translated into electrons, which in turn, become the digital data you need in order to print,
edit, or store a picture. Once the light has become a digital copy of the image it can easily be
stored in the camera’s memory.

#5 lens: A camera lens (also known as photographic lens or photographic objective) is an

optical lens or assembly of lenses used in conjunction with a camera body and mechanism
to make images of objects either on photographic film or on other media capable of storing
an image chemically or electronically.

Here is the different lens:

Qualities of a DSLR camera:

DSLR possesses a lot of qualities that cannot be found in other cameras. Let's see it .

 Image quality: The image quality of a DSLR camera is one of the reasons why
professional photographers prefer it. DSLR cameras come in different price and
image resolution but even the basic models can furnish the user with highly
clarified and detailed photos.
 Versatile lens: A compact digital camera is handy enough to carry around and you
can capture pretty decent photos with it. But, unlike DSLR camera it is not
versatile. You cannot take multiple types of images without dropping the quality.
This is another vital reason that makes DSLR camera distinct. In DSLR camera you
get the provision to take any kind of images like close-up shots, long shots, etc
and you can get it in the best quality. The lenses of it can also adjust automatically
to the situations.
 Accessories: DSLR Camera is flexible as it can be equipped with a wide variety of
accessories from external flashes and lens to triggering devices and wireless
transmitters. Some of the accessories have further kinds. For instance, take
lenses. As said earlier there are different kinds of lenses for taking different shots.
If you want to capture photos of something far away, then you can go for a
telephoto lens which is usually used by sports and wildlife photographers.
 Quick to focus: The focusing on DSLR camera is not only fast but also accurate. It
precisely focuses on the subject. DSLR camera provides both automatic focusing
and manual focusing as well which can be done with the help of the camera rings.
The quick focusing lends a big hand in giving a steady shot of dynamic pictures like
sports events, wildlife, etc. You can put your camera in the auto-focus mode so
that it does the job appropriately or if you prefer manual focusing you can utilize
the camera rings so that you can decide on what to focus.
 Speed: The speed and responsiveness of the DSLR camera is another feature why
many admire it. You will not come across any stutter while you use a DSLR
camera, unlike the camera in phones or other devices. Press the power button
and it gets turned on outright. It is fast enough to let you navigate through the
images and settings seamlessly. Adding to that, you can capture continuously
without any lag even with the basic DSLR camera. Thanks to the fast processors,
you can view the image without any delay post capturing.
 Low battery consumption:  photography session can drain the battery of a
smartphone or a compact digital camera. Varying from it, a DSLR camera can be
used for long photography sessions as it consumes as less power as a wristwatch.
The battery of a DSLR camera is distinct as it distributes power to only the needy
components while usage, unlike other cameras.

Marketing mix & strategy:

 Canon is priced 11% less than Sony but 8% more than Nikon.
 Uses events and experience.
 Is distributed equally.
 Uses niche and differentiation approach to win.
