Chapter 1 Brief Introduction and Applicable Range


1.1This manual mainly deals with the operation request, procedure,

malfunction settlement and safe production.

1.2 Applicable range: machinery filter, active carbon filter and

technical operation of demineralizer.

Function of active filter: eliminating peculiar smell, chloride,

carcinogen, organic matters; reducing chroma, optimize taste and so on.

Function of demineralizer: prevent the Ca, Mg compound in the edible

water from precipitating on the anti-penetration film surface and improve

the efficiency and service life of the film.

Chapter 3 Systematic Operation


3.1 Machinery filter

3.1.1 Start-up operation

3.1.1.1 Check the water-in pressure which ought to be bigger than

0.3Mpa and smaller than 0.4Mpa.

3.1.1.2 Open the gas-in valve after the first running or finishing the

reverse washing.

3.1.1.3 Open water-in valve and close exhaust valve when the water

come out from the valve.

3.1.1.4 Open the drainage valve of the water-out pipe, adjust the flow

flux using water-in valve to be 6~8m/h.

3.1.1.5 Take water sample and test the turbid degree, which shall be

smaller than 0.5NTU. Open the drainage valve and close water-out valve

of the pipe.

3.1.2 Power-off Operation

3.1.2.1 Close water-in valve.

3.1.2.2 Close water-out valve.

3.1.3 Reverse washing operation.

3.1.3.1 Open drainage valve.

3.1.3.2 Open washing valve (the first washing after changing sand

needs to open the exhaust valve, fill the container full and close the exhaust

valve after the water comes out from the exhaust pipe)

3.1.3.3 Start-up of washing pump.

3.1.3.4 Adjust drainage valve, control the washing intension at 15L/mS

and washing time at 15 min.

3.1.3.5 Test the turbid degree of the drained water and close the

washing and drainage valves when the turbid degree of the drained water

is equal or close to that of the water-in.

3.1.3.6 Close washing bump and end reverse washing.

3.1.4 Obverse washing operation

3.1.4.1 Carry out about 30 minutes after the reverse washing.

3.1.4.2 Open water-in valve.

3.1.4.3 Open water-out valve.

3.1.4.4 Adjust water-out valve and control the flow speed at 6m/h,

wash obversely for about 15 minutes.

3.1.4.5 Test the turbid degree of the drained water, end the obverse

washing if the test result is lower than 0.5NTU and carry out regular

operation.

3.1.5 Malfunction settlement

3.1.5.1 If filter turbid degree is lower than 0.5NTU or the filtrating rate

is lower than 30%, execute obverse and reverse washing forcibly in

order to reach the required rated water volume and quality.

3.1.5.2 If the pressure difference is bigger than 10%, carry out obverse

and reverse washing forcibly. If failing to reach normal pressure difference,

prepare to renew the filtration or bearing layer.

3.1.6 Safe Production

3.1.6.1 Machinery filter operation shall fulfill the below demanding:

water pressure 0.3~0.4Mpa; filtrating speed <8m/h.

3.1.6.2 Take records according to the running standards.

3.2 Active carbon filter.

3.2.1 Power-on operation

3.2.1.1 Check the water-in pressure, which shall be bigger than 0.4Mpa

and smaller than 0.6Mpa.

3.2.1.2 Open exhaust valve after the first running or finishing the

reverse washing.

3.2.1.3 Open water-in valve, close exhaust valve when the water comes

out from the exhaust valve.

3.2.1.4 Open the drainage valve of the water-out pipe, adjust the flow

by using water-in valve and control the filtrating speed at 6 m/h.

3.2.1.5 Take water sample and test the remained chlorine, which shall

be smaller than 0.01ppm; close drainage valve of the water-out pipe and

open the water-out valve if the water quality is up to the standard.

3.2.2 Power-off operation

3.2.2.1 Close water-in valve

3.2.2.2 Close water-out valve

3.2.3 Reverse washing operation

3.2.3.1 Open drainage valve

3.2.3.2 Open washing valve (the first washing after changing carbon

needs to open the exhaust valve, fill the container full and close the exhaust

valve after the water comes out from the exhaust pipe)

3.2.3.3 Start washing pump

3.2.3.4 Adjust drainage vale, control washing intension to 5L/mS and

washing time at 15minutes.

3.2.3.5 Test turbid degree of the drained water, and close the washing

and drainage valves when the turbid degree of the drained water is equal or

close to that of the water-in.

3.2.3.6 When the washing pump is closed, the reverse washing is over.

3.2.4 Obverse washing operation

3.2.4.1 Carry out 30 minutes after the reverse washing.

3.2.4.2 Open water-in valve.

3.2.4.3 Open drainage valve.

3.2.4.4 Adjust drainage valve, control the flow speed at 6m/h and carry

out obverse washing for about 15 minutes.

3.2.4.5 Test the remained chlorine, if the value is smaller than 0.01ppm,

end the washing process and put into regular running.

3.2.5 Malfunction treatment

3.2.5.1 If the there is remained chloride in the water-out, do check the

washing valve. If there is leakage, change the defected valves.

3.2.5.2 If the remained chloride in the water-out is bigger than

0.02ppm, and COD eliminating rate is lower than 20%, do give obverse

and reverse washing to the carbon filter. If there is no obvious effect,

prepare well to change the active carbon.

3.2.5.3 If the pressure difference between the pre-filtrating and

after-filtrating is bigger than 10%, carry out forcibly the obverse and

reverse washing. If still fail to reach normal pressure difference, get ready

to renew filtration or support layer.

3.2.6 Safe Production

3.2.6.1 The operation of carbon filter shall meet the conditions: water

pressure 0.4~0.6Mpa, filtrating speed <8m/h.

3.2.6.2 Take notes of the running process.

Chapter 4 Notes
4.1 Remove the silver sand, carbon power by reverse washing before

use.

4.2 Keep the filtration timing function and conform to the reverse

washing standard for in order to avoid bad situations of mud-ball shaping

and resistance increasing. The washing cycle shall be in accordance with

the head loss situation, generally, carry out mechanic filtration one time a

day, while active carbon filter one time a week.

4.3 If the water still comes out exceeding the regulated time, check the

equipment instead of speed up reverse washing to avoid parts damage.

4.4 Clean the equipment surface frequently using neutral detergent.

4.5 The running flow volume shall not exceed the designed maximum

volume, or it will do a bad effect on the water quality.

4.6 Check if all the valves are under good condition, if there is any

water leakage, adjust in time.

4.7 Change the active filtration materials regularly and keep the COD

elimination rate above 50%.

Chapter 6 Loading Filtration Materials


6.1 Mechanic Filter
First fill 1/2 water of the equipment volume, carry out reverse washing
of the 0.6 ~ 1.2 quartz sand separately for 3 times until the water is
clarified.
6.2 Active Carbon Filter
First fill 1/2 water of the equipment volume, load twice the active
filtration materials to about 1.5m of the barrel. Wash reversely every time
after 1/2 of the filtration materials have been loaded until there is no carbon
black color in the water-out.
Treat the active carbon using 5% HCL and 5% NaOH repeatedly for 2
or 3 times before loading, if the acid or alkaline washing is not available,

marinate in the clean water for 12~24 hours and load following the above
mentioned method.
