1. Loading Limits
The additional Bulk Carrier module "BULKLIM" provides the consideration and graphical
presentation of the loading limits as required by the classification societies.

The MACS3.net - menu “Results ” is expanded by three items and the status-line
contains an additional light signal.

Expanded status-line:

The third light indicates the status of the Load Limits Calculation (LLC).

green: the calculation results are OK.

yellow: the calculation is not applicable.
red: the results of the calculation are not OK.

In general, a tab called „Load Limits‟ shows in the default window layout.

Column description:

1. Hold: Hold number (unit: No.)

2. Draught: Draught at mid of hold taken from stress calculation (unit: m)
3. Load: Combined load of hold and double bottom tanks up to double
bottom (unit: tons)
4. max. Limit Sea: Limit of maximum load ref. to column 3 at sea condition. (unit:
tons)
5. max. Limit Port: Limit of maximum load ref. to column 3 at port condition. (unit:
tons)
6. max. Sea: = column 3 / column 4 *100
7. max. Port: = column 3 / column 5 *100
8. min. Limit Sea analog to column 4
9. min. Limit Port: analog to column 5
10. min. Sea: analog to column 6
11. min. Port: analog to column 7

All values are also given for each pair of adjacent holds.

Relative values above 100 % are indicated in red. If one or more values are red, this is
also shown in the LLC indicator in the status line.

1.2 Load Limits Max. Weights

This result window refers to the columns 1, 2 and 4, for each hold and each pair of
adjacent holds. One bar is given for each hold/pair.

The different colours signify:

Blue: allowed load

Yellow / red: existing load. Bar turns to red if the permissible load is reached.

The height of the bar shows the absolute values as indicated on the scale.

1.3 Load Limits Details

The green area shows the permissible region for loading.

The actual point is also indicated as the intersection of the two lines.
This result window shows the load diagram used to get the allowable load values for
each hold. The diagram can be selected for each hold by using the keys + and -.
An alternative to select a special hold or two adjacent holds is to rightclick the diagram
to open the contextmenu and choose the desired hold.
